Unknown Butterfly
With a "Butterfly a Day" series I am practicing on catching form and light without all the detail I'm infamous for and it's been a struggle.
I see all this detail and want to focus in and catch the beauty and I fight my way back to just shadow, form and light. I've done this focus and and pull myself back out all day long, my brain feels like it's stuffed with cotton.
My behavior reminds me of the time I spent learning to meditate with my eyes open focused a couple feet in front of me rather than meditating on my breath coming and going out of my nostrils with my eyes closed. One form of meditation on the breath is pinpointed focusing awareness like a laser and the other form with eyes open soften and broadens awareness.

@reddust, I know this desrciption probably will not make sense, but I feel a odd combination of fun and eerie when I see this pic.
I know it sounds strange. Another great piece of work. Keep it up!

No I didn't make the paper, although I know how, took classes for paper-making at my community college twenty years ago. This paper was made in India. I would totally make my own paper, but I don't have the room right now. Hopefully next year I will have the time and space to make my own paper, matting, and frame!
I've always wanted to do it!!! Never even tried. I'm excited for you to make some, you better share your process with us !!!!!! =P
I promise I will share my paper making adventures if I get the opportunity....making paper isn't that hard, you can make paper from anything that has a cellulose structure ;-)

@xdark21, I'm glad you can take something away that's positive. This series is still evolving, I'm challenging myself by doing a technique that goes against my character.
