The way to succeed on Steemit is to produce original content and to engage with the community. Engaging doesn't mean just leaving simple comments. Engaging means to actually interact with the other users and strike up conversations and friendships.
If you don't plagiarize and steal, and make a real effort to engage with the community, you'll go far.
