Eight men have been charged with raping a pregnant goat to death in Haryana's Mewat district, in India. Understandably, Aslu, the goat owner, registered a complaint saying that his goat was gang-raped on July 25, 2018, by Savakar, Haroon, Jaffar and five others whose identities remained to be ascertained.
Police sources indicated that the accused will be charged under Section 377 (unnatural offences) of the Indian Penal Code.
In the August of last year (2017) also, there was a case of raping an animal to death. This time a puppy. The crime took place in Delhi. 34-year-old Naresh Kumar, a taxi driver in the capital city, was accused of raping a female puppy to death. The rape was later confirmed by a post mortem report.
It may be recalled that in July, 2018, Switzerland's No. 1 junior squash player Ambre Allinckx has avoided traveling to India because her parents have reportedly decided that India is unsafe for women. From the USA contingent also a member had been reportedly cautioned by her people back home about the short skirt. While their fears may well be an over-reaction, the safety of females – be it animal or human – in India is a cause of grave concern for real.
One professionally crafted American website once suggested that the rape epidemic in India may be linked with the people's belief system. According to them, the Indian deities also indulged in rape. They then contrasted the Indian story with the Chinese story and went on to claim that the Chinese men are relatively gentler with their females. The two giant neighbors have one thing in common: shortage of females.
