궁금증은 커가기 시작하고 마침내 의뢰인이 건넨 8미리 필름을 보게 되는 탐, 당혹감에 몸을 가누지 못합니다. 두려움과 불안에 떨고 있는 한 소녀, 탐은 그제서야 왜 자신이 이 일에 맡겨지게 되었는지 깨닫게 됩니다.

탐은 소녀에 대해 조사를 시작하고 가출 소녀의 장부를 조사하던 중 소녀의 이름이 매리앤이라는 것을 발견합니다. 그리고 매리앤의 집을 방문하여 혼자서 쓸쓸하게 매리앤을 기다리는 소녀의 어머니를 만납니다.

매이앤을 추적하던 중 배우가 되고 싶어했다는 것을 알게 되는 탐, 헐리우드의 싸구려 영상을 제작하는 포르노 업계에서 일을 하고 있을 거라는 추측을 하게 되고 헐리우드의 뒤안길을 탐문하기에 이릅니다.

하지만, 매리앤의 모습은 그 어디에도 없습니다. 점점 지쳐가는 탐, 그런데 조사를 하며 포르노 업계에 무법의 스너프 영상이 제작되고 있는 또 다른 세상이 있다는 것을 발견하게 됩니다.
