Beer review from Nerja Spain
No Irish beer review this week, as I was away in Nerja Spain for a long weekend with my family..
Instead, I decided to review one of Spain's most famous beers. The bars I visited in Nerja did'nt have craft beers, so I made do with a regular run of the mill beer..
This weeks beer of the week is.....
Mahou Clásica
Intro
They were icy cold and it was a balmy 20 degrees, not something an Irish man is used to in April. So even if I was drinking dishwater, I'd probably have enjoyed it!! So, even though these beers are bog standard and nothing to write home about, they went down an absolute treat, as they were chilled to perfection on this sunny day..
Review
It poured a typical yellowish colour and was served to me in a glass, as draught. There was a long lasting white head, with adequate lacing. nose is corn, malt, with some floral notes. I really missed that hoppy smell and taste I have become accustomed to.
I didn't even get a chance to take a picture when the glass was full, as I had a serious thirst after the drive, so had a few slugs before I remembered Beer Saturday!
The beer itself was below average, but the beautiful scenery, delicious food and great company more than made up for this.
