Seed of Love 절두산
Just a short walk away from the famous Seoul Hongdae night clubs is the “beheading mountain.”
In 1866 the King of Joseon, Daewongun, thought he could keep foreign ideas out of the land by a show of force.
The French missionaries and converts were executed by cutting off their heads and throwing them off the mountain into the river during the Byeongin persecutions.

Not Laissez-faire
Nothing about the life of Pierre
Could be called laissez-faire
Divinely inspired
That’s what he desired
Directed from above
Led him from the home land of Normandy
To the sandy shores of the Yellow Sea
Distressed
His name means rock but he is shaking
He stands alone in Land of Chosen
Plans of another king start baking
With foes on North and West
King Daewongun is so distressed
Young Man
How long will the Hermit nation stand
Against the teachings of a new land?
With news of losing battle
The council pleads a show of force
Down the mountain into the river
Heads of young men roll
The furry of Byeongin no one can know
Among the trees
A seed is planted and watered with blood that lasts
Like Peter of generations passed
Hung at Nero’s decrees
Pierre is there among the trees
Planted
A tree planted by the river never fades
The fruit of love and forgiveness ripen
Nourishing generations to enlighten

Yes... "savage".... the time kings "ruled" afraid to open or be exposed. It sounds like a story I heard recently on the American news.

Yes, I have planted many seeds in the last year! My son and I even planted clover seed and grass seed mixed together for parts of my yard where no other grass would grow. I planted a bunch of wildflower seeds last fall and now they are blooming. :)
Awesome. I'm so impressed with the way you take care of the land. Each seed has such potential to produce a new life to scatter for generations. It is encouraging to me that your son still helps you in the garden. I'm also happy to hear that wild flowers and clovers are not considered weeds. When I grew up neighbors spend a lot of time trying to keep a pure Kentucky bluegrass front yard. Illinois is a prairie and grasses were meant to be mixed. Clovers and wild flowers were pulled out. Thank you @violetmed for scattering seeds. Generations will be blessed.

Please check this out and the Yangwhajin cemetery right across the street. Amazing stories in these lives. You will not be disappointed. It's worth the history lesson because it relates to how the country was open and how much influence France and Russia had at the time.
