THE FALL

She was the rose in his garden of thorns, the best part of his sh*tty day, the happy place in his sad world, and it all started the night she fell for him, literally.

They had only been talking for a few weeks, and it felt like a second and infinity at the same time, there was an unusual familiarity between them, unusually special, there were no awkward silences, you know that feeling when you just meet someone and you know you're gonna need a little time to get comfortable with them, yeah, there wasn't that either, they skipped the "usuals" and just got down to being really good friends, even though they both had a feeling they were going to be more than just good friends, the moment he met her, he knew he wasn't going to be able to walk away from it, few weeks later, he was completely certain he wasn't going to. He stood almost directly below her, "I'll catch you" he said, looking at her on the roof of her house, "I know you will" " the fall is the scary part", "it's also the best part he replied", he left his hands stretched out to her, assuring her she was going to be fine.

She took a leap, and at that moment, his whole world paused and replayed slowly, she was falling, she was actually falling, she trusted him with her life, he was scared, he wasn't sure he was going to catch her, he wasn't sure she was going to be fine, but he was certain that he didn't want to see her get hurt. She was in his arms, her heart almost beating as fast as his, she was happy, scared, excited, all at the same time, he, well he had an epiphany, at that moment, he knew!, he saw his entire life in front of him, he also saw the past he never had. She was still in his arms, they were seeing eye to eye, literally. That was the defining moment for him.
