Linny draws a Witness: ausbitbank

Hello Steemians,

I’ve started a habit of waking up Saturday morning and practicing how to draw, which I love. Although, I noticed it’s taking away from my writing time, which has me concerned. But I find it therapeutic to draw on my iPad after a stressful week. And it is stressful at the moment with a system I’m implementing going live start of July. The timeline was severely condensed from originally planned, we’re encountering integration issues, and the key developer has run off to Mexico!

-Takes calming breaths-

I’m being dramatic, the developer is holidaying in Mexico.

Anyway, back to fun stuff, my art is done using a stylus, iPad Pro and the amazing app, Procreate. I actually started the morning planning to draw a Lich for my DnD Learning to Draw Series. But I wanted to draw a handsome Lich, to break the stereotype ya know...According to Wikipedia, because I wanted to double-check: "Liches are depicted as being clearly cadaverous, bodies desiccated or completely skeletal." So after more consideration, a handsome cadaverous male was too great a challenge for my exhausted brain to cope with.

Instead, I decided to work on my sketch of rats. It’s for Part 2 of my Queen of Cats short story ( Read Part 1 here )dedicated to my favorite Steemian @supersoju and her diva cat, soju. But after 15 mins, I decided I was sick of staring at rat images on my iPhone!

So I love designing logos, and in the past, I've designed them for friends and family. I haven’t done one in years though. And since I can kinda draw again, and I like to personalize stuff on my blog where possible, this is what I ended up with, ta daaaa!

As you can hopefully see, it’s supposed to be @ausbitbank !

I’m a fan of the work of a few Witnesses and he’s top of the list along with @curie — we can never forget curie. I told him I planned to do a more catchy witness banner at the bottom of my posts to hopefully draw attention to those Witnesses I support. So for his @centerlink initiative that makes a big difference to us less-established Aussies, and his continued support of the @comedyopenmic contest ( checkout Round 19 ), I wanted to add him as a highlight. I’ve always imagined him on a cloud, and since I have a thing for Monkey Magic’s pink cloud, that’s what he’s riding. I think he looks much more approachable on a pink cloud. But as always, the family had opinions on improvement opportunities. My daughters enjoyed the pink cloud with one twin insisting I should add a unicorn...hmmm. The husband felt I should add Monkey Magic's staff.... -sigh and ignore-

Overall, I’m pleased with the end result and it was fun to work on the Anonymous mask. It turned out as a crisp transparent gif, but I did get a little slapdash adding the font. I’ve no experience designing fonts, so for now, I’ll make do with my hacks. And just so you can appreciate what a time-waster I can be when I start these whimsical little projects, I decided to fly him around. I thought it would be funny to see...

A long-standing Champion to the Steemit Veteran community, I follow his Highlight posts. For some odd reason, he's running contests to take photos of durians, goats and currently it's mushrooms. As keen as I was, I couldn't find the time to hunt down a legitimate living goat in the middle of Suburbia. But if you have a moment, please go join in the fun in a show of support! If I do another logo, it's most likely a humvee dedicated to GP. But for now, I'm tapped out.

Like how I imagined ausbitbank on a cloud, I always imagine quochuy as the polar opposite. I imagine him stuck in the basement, working hard, unappreciated, out of the way and forgotten. I'm sorry I suggested he go do a comedyopenmic entry, such that he felt he needed to research on youtube on how to be funny... Just vote for him, he's a good guy. I'm sure he's not really stuck in a basement. I suspect he's really off somewhere singing yet another karoke song for charity. Talk about addicted!

Last but definitely not least, I'm going to end my post on a beautiful note with the lovely Witness @thekitchenfairy singing bad Karaoke. It is actually good!!
