Celebrating women's strength with my art
Hey Steemit community,
Your warm welcome put a smile on my face and encouraged me to share more thoughts with you. One of the reasons I do comics is that I want to create stories that I would like to read, but can't find anywhere. Most of my work celebrates women's strength and resilience and I am looking forward to uploading it here for your enjoyment - hopefully, to provide food for thought, too. If you want a sample of what I'm talking about, check out very first post. When it comes to women's issues and rights, I believe that our society is devolving, and this is truly concerning to me. I see and hear millennials talking like my grandfather used to, and buying into sex stereotypes without even realizing it. My art goes the opposite direction, featuring strong and independent female characters, flawed, yet three-dimensional and never sexualized or pornified.
Here are a couple of characters from my main comic, Infected Blood. As you can see, these two are the symbol of physical strength, but I will have many other body types for my female characters.
I have fun doing concept art like this, even if it's a bit rough. If you like it, I will upload more - just let me know and, if you wish, please give me an upvote!
I will be on vacation for a few days, enjoying nature in Eastern Quebec. When I am back, I will start posting The Green-Eyed Sniper - A Sho(r)t Story (or GES, for short), a 90-page pilot comic to Infected Blood. Catch you in a couple of weeks!
