#1 Knossos: The "Modern" Minoan Palace Near Heraklion

First, @for91days takes us to the ruins of Knossos, which are just outside of Heraklion on Crete, Greece. Drenched in history, these 4000-year-old ruins are one of the most remarkable archaeological sites in the Western world. It is thought the site's palace was home to King Minos. However, thanks to Sir Arthur Evans who was in charge of the initial excavations, parts of the palace were reconstructed based on his ideas of how it must have looked. As such, much of Knossos isn't particularly authentic. While modern archaeologists would never dream of undertaking such bold reconstruction, in 1900 it was apparently the thing to do.

#2 STEEMFEST Vlog - Opening Day and Meeting all the Steemians

Next, @daveonarrival takes us to Krakow, Poland for Steemfest. He shows us some of the city's beautiful architecture amidst the cold and fog. His first stop is a vegetarian/vegan restaurant for some breakfast before heading to the main venue for registration and meeting more steemians. At this time of the year it gets dark early—around 4.30pm—as he wanders around some more. He ends with the opening night party before reflecting on the day as he heads back to his accommodation for some sleep.

#3 Dharamsala, Or, Should I say "McLeod Ganj?"

Finally, @liquidtravel takes us to Dharamsala, India. Dharamsala means "spiritual dwelling" but refers to shelters built for pilgrims to give them a place to rest as they make their journey to visit spiritual destinations. Today, lower Dharamsala is a typical town, while upper Dharamsala—also known as McLeod Ganj—is where the Dalai Lama resides and the main tourist destination. The weather varies considerably depending on the time of year but there is a lot to see and do. Dharamsala offers visitors a mix of spiritual, commercial, and natural beauty if you can get past its grungy feel.
