1. Inside Canyon Itaimbezinho & Canela

Today @philippbuxbaum takes us hiking along the Trilha do Rio do Boi trail, which follows the river inside Canyon Itaimbezinho, about 170km NE of Porto Alegre, Brazil. The hike takes about 8-9 hours, with numerous river crossings and many beautiful waterfalls along the way. He recommends staying in the canyon itself at the Refúgio Ecológico Pedra Afiada, as well as hiking along the top of canyon for a different perspective.

2. Completing the Iceland Ring Road — Day 6: Jeweltones from Vatnajökull to Vik

@crimsonclad is back with another epic Icelandic ring road adventure. Today she drives up the windy, snow capped mountains above Egilsstaðir, to wrestle the elements of nature to view the northern lights. In the morning she sets off in search of a viking village only to find a scrap wooden film set at the base of Vestrahorn—one of the most photographed vistas in Iceland. She continues to Jökulsárlón and then on to a glacier boasting aquamarine water, citrine sunbeams, and dazzling diamond ice shards.

3. Street photography: Grafton Jacaranda Festival 2017

@atnicholson takes us to the sleepy town of Grafton, Australia, for the annual Jacaranda Festival. This event occurs in spring between the last week of October and first week of November to celebrate the blooming of the purple Jacaranda trees. The last day of the festival is known locally as Jaca Thursday and includes street stalls and performances by local businesses and artists.
