#1 Svalbard - A Short Visit to Longyear Town

For our first featured post @nkraft takes us to Lonyearbyen, Norway. A place I reckon most people would not immediately consider visiting. @nkraft is here to do research for his upcoming novel, as an important part of the novel is the Svalbard Global Seed Vault (which is located here). The vault contains all different types of seeds, in case the world would lose a certain type of vegetation, we might be able to regrow it with one of those seeds. With his hiking tour cancelled, another, perhaps even better, option opens up to go kayaking!

#2 Тhe small Island of a big turtles

For our second featured post @fareast-history takes us to Curieuse Island, part of the Seychelles Islands. On the island you'll find cocos palms, a local grape sort and multiple types of mangroves. There are walkways around the island, making it the perfect spot to hike around and see the wildlife, a multitude of birds, crabs and fish. There used to be a leper colony based on the island, which is possibly why it remains so well preserved. The main attraction on the island are without a doubt the 500 turtles, that have made it their home!

#3 Dajia Pilgrimage in Taiwan

For our last featured post our own @livinguktaiwan takes us along the Dajia Pilgrimage in Taiwan. This unique festival, celebrating the birth of the sea goddess Mazu. The Dajia Mazu Pilgrimage is a 330Km long procession starting and ending at the Zhenlan Temple in Dajia. It lasts 9 days and covers over 4 counties, 21 townships, many villages and around a hundred temples on the way. The whole procession leaves a strong impression, and the spirit of the people is high and incredibly friendly. If you find yourself in Taiwan in April, this is definitely a feat worth checking out!
