It is well about time for me to continue the "pictures of my past travels" series with one of the last episodes (since we already reached the year 2016). In this year I was again in Piran for a project in marine ecology. This time our research was focused on microbial symbioses and with 2 colleagues we picked shipworms as our model organism. Since I am not sure if I am allowed to share any pictures of the lab and our research, I just show you some pictures of the coast of the beautiful little city Piran ;)
Es ist an der Zeit für mich die "Fotos von meinen vergangen Reisen" Serie, mit einer der letzten Folgen (da wir schon das Jahr 2016 erreicht haben), fortzuführen. In diesem Jahr war ich wieder in Piran bei einem Projekt der marinen Ökologie. Dieses mal lag der Fokus unserer Forschung auf mikrobiellen Symbiosen und mit 2 Kollegen wählten wir Schiffsbohrwürmer als unseren Modellorganismus. Da ich mir aber nicht sicher bin ob es mir erlaubt ist Fotos vom Labor und unsere Forschung zu teilen, zeige ich euch nur ein paar Fotos von der Küste der schönen kleinen Stadt Piran ;)

Thanks for sharing this post @reconnectnature. I have never even heard of Piran but they do say you learn something new every day. Enjoyed looking at the pics from your travels and although all had that something about them it was last photo that did it for me. I could see myself living somewhere like that in my retirement.
