Roadtrip Towards the Sun - Nyang Nyang Beach, Bali

in #travel6 years ago

Taking care of your visa can be annoying, but it can also be a fantastic roadtrip with all that Bali has to offer - bright beach, refreshing sea, great food and a beautiful sunset. When you want to get an extension for your visa in Bali, you either have to pay for an agency to organize everything or you go to the immigration office yourself. Not only once, but you have to show up three times in total. What a waste of time that can be, right?

Turning our visa extension into a beautiful road trip

When we spent two months in Bali a few weeks back (we are currently in Malaysia) we didn’t want to drive all the way down to Denpasar just for filling out some forms, so that my boyfriend Johann and I decided to combine the bureaucracy with exploring some amazing beaches and selected the office in Nusa Dua for our visa extension. It was not as close as the one of Bali‘s biggest city Denpasar, but had some great beaches in reach.

So after the few minutes in the immigration bureau for some mug shots, we drove down to Nyang Nyang beach, with a little stopover at a vegetarian restaurant along the way. It was simply called the Smoothie Shop and among some great plant based dishes, the also served raw vegan pizza and lasagne - so delicious!

Doing it the local way - Relaxing in the afternoon sun

After strengthening ourselves, we continued our journey down to the beach front, this time exploring Nyang Nyang beach. I have to say, it was the perfect choice for us, since only very few tourists were working on their tan there, but mostly were playing with their kids in the shallow water and enjoyed the cooling sea breeze on another hot day in Bali.

You can see a lot of coral reefs at this ocean stretch, but at the very front the ocean ground consisted just of very fine and smooth white sand, so comfortable to lay in the water and let any thoughts about visa, deadlines and upcoming travel plans go.

The grand finale - Balinese sunset at its best

As the time went by, the sun started to make its way down and left behind a beautiful orange-tinted sky. If you look closely at the photograph, you see that I even managed to catch a kite on my picture, that seems to fly right into the sun‘s light. It was a magical end of a warm summer day and when we came back home, with salt in our hair, sandy feet and tanned skin - we were happy about the bureaucracy that let us to Nyang Nyang.
