Sculptures & Details at Yorkshire Sculpture Park (YSP)
I wanted to post up here a few of the sculptures from the Yorkshire Sculpture Park near Wakefield in the UK. If you need some context to these works seen here you can read my previous post that shows the surrounding nature in this park and other photographs to compliment.
In the comments section of the previous post there was an intriguing comment about the contrast of the Kaws sculpture and the rest of the work in the park. I felt a similar thing when I was there. Of course it's intriguing to see such sculpture in this park, especially the size of these Kaws sculptures took me by surprise and is a complete contrast to the his works that have become collectable, but they did feel a little cold in comparison to some of the other works in this park.
I was especially interested in the works by Swiss-American artist Not Vital who works with craftsmen all over the world to create these sculptural exhibits in different locations. You can see the heads here and also the ceramics and metal sphere in the last post, all of which are a little surreal in form. I communicate with craftsmen on a daily basis so maybe that's part of the reason why these interest me, but I also like the simplicity in the work and the overall aesthetic.
Hopefully these shots here give you a look at some of the highlights from my walk around the park and you will also give this place a visit if you're ever in Yorkshire. Enjoy.

Hello @oen, I just happened to be in North Yorkshire now, and just posted something about Yorkshire as well. Then noticed that you wrote about visiting Japan.. I will need to read lots of your past posts now : ) Thanks for the York tips. Followed and Upvoted!
Hey @anne-bella! Thanks for commenting. Yeah, I visit Japan at least once a year for work so I hope to post more in the future. I don't travel to Yorkshire often, as I'm in the Cambridge area, but it's a really nice place! Following your blog now :) Keep up the good work.
@originalworks
still don't know what it's all about anyway
