Creation of Gri Gri Lagoon & Beach of the Dead (PART 1)
Laguna Gri Gri, Rio San Juan, Dominican Republic.
Located on the north side of the island the lagoon was just a small natural spring of fresh water that connected with the sea through a small stream of water, until an earthquake hit the area on 1958 that lead to a large flow of underground fresh water to come out and form the larger lagoon now called Gri-Gri .
Laguna Gri- Gri as it was named by the locals due to the abundance of Gri-Gri tree on and near the lagoon.
beautiful crystal clear waters that connects with the sea, now has a constant traffic of boats that transports tourist and visitors from the start of the lagoon and through the streams filled with manglers and beautiful fishes and turtles to the sea where two beautiful beaches and two caves are located.
To the left will be Caleton Beach and to the left the infamous Beach of the dead witch will be part 2 of the story.
These are a few shots I took of the journey from beginning of the lagoon to the ocean
