Mexico City Madness: Starting the Journey Part 3

in #travel6 years ago

The logo you see in this photo is actually a giant version of the logo for the nationwide Mexican grocer, Comercial Mexicana. In Cuernavaca it was called just "La Comer" which means the food, which was interesting.

Here's one of the few good shots I got of the beautiful scenes found under those cool bridges I've shared in the other posts.

I think this is of as we approached Cuernavaca in Morelos, the town of eternal spring.

There were stands like this along the highway selling bulk cut roses.

This was the only point in the journey that I really wished we had the truck (other than when we broke down) because I knew there were plants for sale at this market that I don't have access to back home.

The Cuernavaca area was an interesting blend of pine forest and tropical, as there were both palms and bananas with pine trees.

When things started to look like this the air smelled awesome and we froze our asses off as it was much chillier than we're used to here in Acapulco. It was refreshing though and I've honestly missed it since being home in the recent swampy weather.

A common site through Mexico, roadside sisterns with water for overheating vehicles.

When you've got to pin down the cliff to keep it from falling onto passers by.

The next bit of photos will finally share what it was like in Mexico City itself, so stay tuned!
