The domain of ​​Manasia is a fascinating territory, a place only 50 km from Bucharest in the town with the same name. Manasia passed through the hands of many noble families, starting with the Cantacuzino family who led the construction of this mansion in 1650. Manasia now preserves the noble beauty of this mansion, being also the first historic monument of Class A of national importance, fully restored in Ialomita County .

The domain includes the mansion, the two-hectare park and the wine cellar under the mansion. Besides the beauty and complex history of this area, in Manasia you will find haute cuisine prepared by Chef Alexandru Iacob, the winner of an important culinary show in Romania.

At Manasia you can organize events, from conferences, to weddings and special anniversaries, the mansion with 8 salons you can rent, along with other unusual accessories such as: antique cars, custom menus, special decorations and the like.

The Manasia domain is one of those few places in Romania where the reality on the ground is over expectations. And we can not say that expectations were low.
The domain of Manasia is a historical monument of Baragan, brought back to life a few years ago and offered to the public in the form of an "aristocratic experience".

I say this because, on the one hand, we have the mansion itself, impeccably restored and with all the elements of the luxury of old times in their place, alongside a 2-hectare park with 200-year-old trees, irises, green arcades and fish ponds . And on the other side is one of the best culinary experiences we have had in Romania.

The Manasia Domain Story has its beginnings somewhere in the 17th century and involves more names in the aristocratic class of the times. But the one who gave the current form of the domain to the end of the sec. 19 is former Bulgarian Foreign Minister Ion Hagianoff, whose name still accompanies ownership in certain contexts.
The domain consists of an eclectic mansion with Art Nouveau elements, a 2-hectare park that I mentioned above and some annexe buildings.

The property is impressed in detail. The furniture is purchased from fairs and antique auctions, the high ceilings were reconstituted as a book, including the gold leaf specific to the noble status of the times. There is a fireplace, a piano room, and some of the walls host paintings originally painted by George Löwendal, the grandfather of the current estate. The ground floor is the most elegant, and as it climbs up to the attic even the conference rooms, technology and more contemporary elements begin to appear.
In the basement of the mansion there is an impressive wine cellar, with a capacity of 1 million liters, where tasting is organized. You can discover the whole story in the field tour that is usually included in the Manasia experience.

The mansion is especially promoted as a venue for events: weddings, corporate events, business meetings for larger groups. Separately there is an area of ​​culinary experiences for smaller groups, weekend experiences in general. This fine dining is also the reason we got to Manasia. And we were not disappointed.

The Manasia menu changes according to seasonal ingredients. Great emphasis is placed on the quality and freshness of the ingredients. If you plan a visit and there is no scheduled event for that weekend, it is best to be interested in the menu when making a reservation.

Otherwise, there are menus set for different weekend events that are announced in advance. We tried such a menu on Valentine's Day weekend. In short: one of the best culinary experiences in Romania.
The menu was easy, balanced and sprinkled with unprecedented preparations, surprises from the chef.

What you need to know:

A full menu from the category we are trying , cost is 250 Ron / (50$)person without drinks. The cost may vary by event and menu.
For accommodation in Urziceni it is recommended to try Vila Royal. The difference in style is great, of course, but it's just about one night.
