Hello fellow Steemians!

Today, you can participate by submitting your personal pictures from your travels to the continent of Africa.

See the winner of the last week´s African Wednesday @jpphotography with the following entry:

Sahara Sunset, Morocco. Golden hour in the Sahara is beautiful: The light of the fading day emphasizes the shapes of the huge sand dunes and paints them in all kinds of yellow, orange and red tones.

Your entries need to be submitted by 8 AM Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.

Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 SBD in total.

Please see the winners of the previous contests of the week and give them your support if you like their images to be the one winning the weekly price and entering the other stages of the 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge. You can vote for them by upvoting their winner announcement posts below:

@worldcapture Asian Sunday entry:

Concrete Jungle, Hongkong. I took this shot a few years ago on my stay in Hongkong. The location was on the Victoria Peak (30 min hike for a stunning view) which was absolutely worth visiting.

@vinceboisgard Australian Monday entry:

The opera House and the harbour bridge view from the botanic gardens during night time. Sydney is such a great city and the rock is the place to hang out. The opera house structure is just breathtaking and so intriguing, it is a great architectural piece!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans week #46 - winner announcement!

@axeman Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

Could be easily considered as some Antarctica landscape, but the truth is this is frozen coastline of the Baltic Sea, Lithuania after pretty long period of negative temperature. Very low shooting angle and very wide angle lens bringing quite unusual overall perspective for the scenery. Dying from the hot Europeans.. enjoy the COLD!

Doors in Chefchaouen, Morocco

Many cities in Morocco feature a beautiful Medina ("old town"), but none of them is as eye-catching as the one in Chefchaouen: Every single house is painted in a beautiful blue colour.

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

That looks like it is almost under the water.

Etosha National Park, Namibia.

Elephants are the largest animals on earth. They have characteristic long noses or trunks, large flappy ears and wide thick legs. What a great animal. We found this one close to our campsite, how wonderful.

A magnificent animal for sure! Thank you for your post.

Essaoira, Morocco
If you want to avoid the hecticness & chaos in Marrakech you should visit Essaoira which is only 2.5h away from the City.
It's small coast village with loads of good seafood restaurants and a lot of tiny alleys to discover. Def should have a stop here if you plan to travel in Morocco.

Thank you so much for your submission. Kindly stay tuned for the winner announcement coming soon. Tomas

East African sunset behind the palms

Screen Shot 2018-08-08 at 8.42.34 am.png

At low latitudes, the sunset comes and goes quickly. Here in East Africa, the sun starts to drop and then minutes later, darkness. Thus sunset photos need to be taken quickly. I like how the palms look backlit by the sun!

This is also posted on my blog.

Thank you so much for your participation. Tomas

Thank you and have a great day!

Western Desert, Egypt

Snow formations in Egypt? What appears to be snow is actually calcium rock shapes formed by hundreds of years of sandstorms and erosion. Although it's only about five hours from Cairo, it's well off the tourist track. Explore the formations during the day and camp in the desert with Bedouins at night.

It is more then fascinating what nature can create. Thank you for sharing.

One of my favourite area's in South Africa is the Cederberg Mountain range. I took this photo on a fairly remote trail from a hill called Wolfkop on a farm called Jamaka. What a wonderful place?!

That sure is a wonderful place. Have a good one Jaco.

Already many photos posted before from our cruise trip over the Nile, Egypt. So here is finally how does look the cruise ship itself. Though ours was little bit different, but you can get an idea...
Shot from the upper deck of our ship using long tele-photo lens

Enjoy sunny Egypt :)

That must have been a pretty astonishing experience!

Douz-Tunisia
Sahara desert: +40 heat, sand, wind and desert ships! It is here that tourists come to meet the sunset and ride a camel. We, too, did it, but only without any use. Independently organizing a trip to the Sahara, we traveled all tourist places by our friendly company on one car ...

That is just little too hot for me but it does have to be an amazing experience. Have a good one. Tomas

Temple of Seti I, Abydos, Egypt. Also known as the Great Temple of Abydos.
The temple is home to several interesting elements and is in a remarkable state of preservation. We can still see the original color.

Thank you so much for your participation. Have a great day. Tomas
