5 Essential Things for a Motorcycle Trip : Bikergirl

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

Hey Steemit friends and bikers!

Travelling a thousand miles on the motorcycle is fun and dangerous, tough and easy all at the same time. We may plot our routes and stopovers but yet still to a larger extent depend on our instincts, as the road throws at us plenty surprises such as detours, calamities, roadblocks etc. We cannot pack our entire home of course but here are the five essential things I don’t leave home without.

Motorcycle gear

I like to ride safe, so the helmet is of course, a must. In addition to that, a proper motorcycle gear is important as it protects my knees and elbows during a mishap and it gives me better momentum against the wind. Traveling light is key to a better riding experience. I love my Dainese riding jacket which has good armor and back protects as well as elbow guards. My riding pants with knee and hip armours, gloves, ankle length boots is something that I can't leave home without.

Camping gear

Like I mentioned before, the road will throw surprises at you so you never know when and where you might have to halt. As such a camping gear is a very helpful. Even otherwise if your pitstop is say a National Park, wouldn’t you rather spent the night in the lush jungles than be copcooped in a resort? It is always enriching to be in touch with nature.

Sunscreen

It may be a perfect day but the sun will always be scorching hence the sunscreen is important. It is not about not getting tanned, the sunscreen provides protection against the UV rays. Also, the smoke and the dust and the warmth of the other passing vehicles creates an imbalance in the air and we need protection from that.

Phone

The phone is one of the most essential tiny machinery. It plays a huge role in my identity as a blogger. I keep all my notes there and i document my journey of photographs on this device. It also makes it easy for me to share my experiences over social media. Furthermore, it is a perfect device for a distress call. Just make sure you have all your emergency contact in a hard copy.

GPS

Since I usually travel alone, I find this very handy and even though I like getting lost most of the time. When I do have to ride back home, this is what gets me back. I never leave my home without the Gramin Gps, it is better than google maps as it works without internet which means my phone battery last longer, given the fact that almost every one of us faces battery issues when we need our phone to be alive the most. Another feature that I really like is that it works with coordinate and also places name.
