Milestone post - 100 followers - Settling in and Minnow Support Goups

My milestone posts are meant as reflections on my recent experiences here on Steemit and to share my plans. If you want me to follow you, just interact with me, I'm not going to follow people for no reason, but I want to connect so give me a reason to ;-P !

Me and Steemit

So just 5 days after my 50 follower milestone post, it's already time for 100 follower milestone post X-D . I think I'm getting the hang of it here. No need to put on airs, I can just be myself, it's like this place was made for me. The manic inner child self can go wild and BS in the chat rooms while the composed truth seeker self can focus on posting and commenting, putting a little effort into more polished attempts at bringing love and inspiration into everyone's life. The true self is just basking in the awesomeness of every moment that it remembers to.

Community and What I'm working on

I'm absolutely ecstatic about the sense of community here, it's exactly what I was looking for. I started a new blog series called "Optimism at the End of the World". It's purpose is to turn the focus away from all the crap that is going on that makes you feel helpless and to back on to you, the one experiencing all this (life). The first post was about empathy and why it's so damn important. I'm brainstorming ideas for the second one which will be more about your own importance, that you do make an impact on the world around you and how to maximize that impact and keep it totally positive.

While my first Japanese entry made a shit ton of money for a minnow ($50 something), the second two make me wonder if it's just going to be ignored but it's all good, it's mostly for myself anyway. To all non-Japanese speaking followers (most of you), I ask that you forgive the 1-3 headlines of gibberish headlines every week, just skip them if you want (though upvote is always appreciated to show love)

My music blog will be more of a side-project and will be coming in a few days. I will share some of my favorite artists from all over the world, artists that are unknown to almost everyone.

And lastly, my short stories. I was thinking of sharing them here as soon as I hit 100 but since they are already being uploaded to my Patreon (which is pay-what-you-want), and I have an opportunity to share other, more direct and interactive content here, I'm no longer in a hurry. But I am working on a story about self destruction and love and war with the inner child, it's the first story I've written with lots of sex and a lot different in style from my others so I'm a little unsure as to how it will match up to my others.

Aside from making my debut in the chat rooms, I learned about various projects to help minnows and users who are doing a lot to help minnows, including

• Whaleshares organized by @officialfuzzy - a way for minnows to vote with whale power
• the50 A lottery for minnows to win some steem power. I just missed this one, I will get on next time!
• Minnow Support Project by @aggroed A contest to get a whale resteem. Also just barely missed the deadline.
  -What Makes Steemit Beautiful by @steemisbeautiful . Features new users, I was mentioned in the latest post.
  -Steempearls started by @blackwidow7 , a feature on quality posts.
• The chat rooms can be great help for minnows to get to know people! Try them if you haven't yet.
