The first satellites will be launched into space. After the test results, it will be known exactly whether this type of network is suitable for our world.

The project is sponsored not only by SpaceX, but also by Google, which invested $ 1 billion in it, the same amount was shared by the investment company Fidelity. Nearly 12,000 satellites plan to bring to a low Earth orbit, which will cover the planet with stable Internet.

The first test was due on February 17, but the company postponed the launch - twice - wishing to additionally check the equipment. After the launch, the test of communication with the stations on Earth will pass. As they say in the company, the transfer of data from cars and back through satellites will be one of the priority directions in the work of the project after launch.

At first Starlink prepared much fewer satellites, but when competitors appeared on the horizon in the person of OneWeb and Telesat, their number increased, wishing to be the first to cover the whole world with their Internet.

If all the tests are successful, then SpaceX plans to launch the first workstations until 2019, and completely cover the world until 2024.
