Is everything bigger in Texas?

They say everything is bigger in Texas, but Times square does huge billboards

I have read and heard many times that everything is bigger in Texas, and I would not be surprised if for many things that is so true, but Its hard to beat the Big billboards in Times Square.

Such as this one advertising the NFL Experience which is fairly new I believe in the area, and Hershey's which has been in Time Square since I have been here,

And here is a big set of billboards advertising the new Call of Duty Black Ops game, which was just released, its not a game I have ever got into, but our Son and Stepson play it and most likely have this new release and are playing it now.

I don't play games a lot, for most of the year, but in the peak of winter when I am feeling the cold to much and not getting out taking photos much I may have a burst of playing a little now and again, the last game I was into was a Far Cry 5 early this year.

How about you are you into computer or Console games, any tips for me to try out this winter?

Well, that's sure enough what those Texans say, but...

Did you know that if you split Alaska in two both parts would be bigger than Texas? Just sayin'

They do like to 'let their light' shine in Texas, but I don't think anything beats the billboards in Times Square. Even Las Vegas doesn't have lights like that... Thanks for a good look at the real deal.

Actually that is something I didnt know thanks for the info

Yes i have travelled a lot and I dont think anywhere in the world comes even clos eot the glitz of Times Square

Have you read about the jumbotron they have at the stadium where the cowboys play? I think it is one of the largest ones in the country. They certainly do their best to make everything better there!

Someone shared a photo of it in response ot this post that is indeed huge, but I think it doesn’t really compare with the whol feel of Times Square

I used to be a lot more into gaming than now, i just can't find the time for it. The last console I owned was an old Super Nintendo when I was still a kid. After that: #pcmasterrace ;-)

I am the same generally i am busy with other things but over winter I have some free time and occassionaly play

I do both computer and console games, not as much as I used to, and not as much on the computer. I have an x-box 360, I enjoy fallout vegas, but kind of a drag when you hit 50 experience level and get no more levels. I also play Skyrim Legendary Edition, likely my most played game. I've run through the mass effect games a couple of times, but they get boring and repetitive after awhile. Two weeks ago, I went to the used game store and bought a game called Kingdom of Amalur Reckoning. Interesting so far, of course being used, no little booklets or anything with it being a used game so trial and error, and when I am online I don't take time to look up the game info. Kind of like a Diablo type game. Enjoyable so far.

I have heard of all those games but haven't played any of them will keep them in Mind if I do get back into gaming this Winter

Hey :-) I'm from Texas. There's plenty of bigger to go around, believe me.

So far as I know, no one has decided to take on Times Square type project. But when they do ... you can count on the objective to be, "Bigger than the signs in Times Square."

Otherwise they won't waste their time thinking about it.

Thanks this wasn't at all a shot against Texas but I suspected I may get a response or two from people in Texas, I know Texas is way ahead in many ways for doing it big, but challenging Times Square for its size and bright lights and color would be a big challenge

thanks for your thoughts :)

I viewed it as a legit question.

Shooting at Texans is usually bad decision making. The gun supplies are bigger. Truth.

Phew :) I have to admit all I have seen of Texas was the airport in transit twice

Last I saw of DFW it was plenty big enough and Houston confused me very much. Most airports do annoy by being big and confusing.

I use to really love flying into and out of the airport .... hmm Westchester? Up near Tarrytown.

Got no reason to be up there anymore though.

I really don't want a reason to fly into DFW. Only reason I'd have to fly back to Dallas would be an unwanted emergency. From Kentucky it's a 15hr drive, give or take.

Yes I do remember it was pretty big but compared to some airports I have been in it was well organized, YesI think your right i have never flown from or to there thought

Lets hope you never need to fly there

Great photos @tattoodjay, and yes I'd agree, Times Square billboards can't be beat! But Texas seems to have some large peculiarities :)

A mall in San Antonio,

On old Route 66,

In San Antonio, large votive candle,

Memorial to Buddy Holly, in Lubbock,

And of course, we can't forget big Texas hair :)

Texas Big Hair ... It's a thing :

And funny you mention gaming; I just saw a used X-box online for sale here and was contemplating picking it up :)

I think I got a little carried away with this comment haha

I Love3d your comment i would love to do a road trip and see all of those things :)

Thanks for your visit and the smile it gave tip!
