I envision the missing parts of you,

they live only in imagination,

and render you whole

only in my eyes.

I will go on rebuilding memories,

snapshots that are dancing behind my eyes,

these flip-book feelings

animate your mind.

I concede that both our heads are split wide

and that the exposure can chill our thoughts

until we are half,

again on our own.

And the half-baked plans we carefully hold

hold us back; an illusion of safety.

Seat belts for the heart,

air bags for the soul.

In my worry, I start to disappear

but my waning skin can still feel you close

Like a burst of cold

traveling your spine.

Our consitutent parts make up a whole

every time we are melting together.

your hands are my hands,

your fate is my fate,

Envisioning the missing parts of us.
