The Steem Sister Show - Episode 36 // Cooking - Part Two!

in #steemsistershow6 years ago

Welcome to the 36th episode of the Steem Sister Show!

Your hosts are @coruscate and @maryjaney. We are two sisters using the Steem blockchain to chat about our life experiences and provide a little entertainment value to the Steemit Community.

I'm posting our second epsiode a day early this week because I might be going out of town tomorrow!

Topic of this Episode – Cooking - Part Two

Wow - you guys were really into our episode on cooking! We literally got so many questions that we decided to make it a two part!

Here are the questions covered in this episode:

  • Do you prefer to cook or bake?

  • What is an ingredient that you use in so many dishes that you make?

  • Audience question from @oxygen02 – Do you think you can cook better than your mother?

  • Audience question from @brightstar- What do you cook that is your guiltiest pleasure?

  • Audience question from @micscrypt – What would you never cook again because you messed up so bad?

  • Do you like to be entertained while you cook? (watch TV, listen to music or a podcast etc)

What is the Steem Sister Show All About?

We aim to bring more “non-crypto” related content to the Steem Blockchain. Although there is nothing wrong with this kind of content (@corsucate even posts on crypto related material sometimes) – we want to help create a better onboarding experience for new users. We talk a lot about attracting new users to the platform – but if the trending page is filled with crypto posts and flagging wars, they are likely to lose interest quickly.

We hope that by creating content that is more similar to what they are used to seeing on other social media sites – they will feel more excited about being here and creating content of their own!

How Does It Work?

We pick a different topic every episode, and then throw totally random questions about that topic in a hat and go back and forth. We always have a mix of our own questions and some audience questions. Our rule is that we cannot tell each other our answers before filming! So you guys are getting our raw, unfiltered reactions here.

Every episode we announce the next week’s topic so people can submit questions.

Want to win some SBD??

If we chose to answer your question in the next show… we will send you 2 SBD! Now that’s some easy money.

Next Week’s Topic : Purging Your Possessions

This topic is very top of mind for me because I just got a new place and will be moving! The next week or two will be a crazy mess of me purging/selling/packing and moving. Mary also just recently moved and had to go through a similar process!

So shoot us your questions on the topic of purging. Do you think having a junk drawer is important? How often do we purge and go through our stuff? Feel free to get creative.

If you would like the possibility of winning 2 Steem - please submit your questions! Anything on the topic of purging is fair game. Listener questions always end up being the best ones - so thank you in advance to everyone who submits one!

That’s a Wrap!

We hope you guys enjoyed this episode! We definitely had fun chatting all about food! It totally made us both hungry!

With Love,

The Steem Sisters

Greetings, Sweet Coruscate

I confess that I was having trouble knowing what you are.... I'm kidding!!!!!

You two speak very well in public. I liked the introduction they made with that song hehehe.

Well, getting into the subject of the video, I'd rather bake. For me, that I am not so skilled in the kitchen, do something baked is less laborious and cause less dirt saw! I prefer things that can be done quickly.

For example, I bought a tray with 800 grams of turkey breast in strips. I spent seasoning on them, still frozen and put everything to bake. Could have cooked or fried, but I preferred to bake because I do not need to stay there while baking and cause less mess in the kitchen hehehe.

Thanks for the video and good night!!!!

I love cooking particularly baking. My mom is a great teacher. I learnt a lot from her, native dishes are the best.
Moving is not an easy task. I moved last year and had to make heartbreaking decisions.
Is it true women typically have more stuffs than men? Often, you find ladies carrying a lot more stuff than their male counterparts when travelling or moving.
What is that one item you can never throw away?
What items are easy to throw away?

Awesome questions!! I always love your thoughtful remarks @cheekah!

Sorry you had to part with so many items that were near and dear to you when you moved last.

My parents were into super bland food as well... literally every night was meat and 3 veg.... with the very rare toasted cheese sandwiches if my parents were too busy, etc. It really wasn't until I moved out that I even found out that you could, like, cook whatever you wanted... and baking, I had no idea that was a thing, I thought baked goods just came from the shops.

Sooooo...... moving internationally was super stressful, but also massively cathartic. We went from a house full of stuff to two suitcases each... and because we had renovated, we had bought tons of new, nice stuff to match a few years earlier.. that we then sold for almost nothing.... but the cleansing of stuff was just magical to me. I loved it. My partner hated it, she loves stuff... but I really loved it. Now I'm thinking that when we decide to eventually move back to Oz, we might do some USA #vanlyfe for 6 months first, which will require another massive cull.

So, my question to you, dear Steem Sisters... is.... have you kept anything from your childhood that you'll never part with?

I don't.. and I'm okay with that... but for most of my life I had quite a few things that I loved, but would barely even unpack the boxes between moves.

Thanks for answering my question again in this episode, i really enjoyed watching it. My questions for next show goes thus;

  • what are those item that if you could store in a convenient place, you will use them often?
  • what are those item you will be sad to loss even though you don't use them often?

Just a reminder that I'm yet to receive my SBD ( 6 in total now).
Much love @coruscate and @maryjaney, #SteemSisterShow👌

Oh no! Did I forget to send you from last episode? Shoot! Sending it now. Why 6? Should be 4 because of two episodes right?

Thanks for the awesome questions as always!! Your awesome!

Yeah..two episodes with this current one, making three

wow, i'm the worst! Sorry about that! Just sent 6.

Smiles...you are not the worst, you are still the best as far as I'm concern. Nobody is perfect, we are all working towards perfection. Thanks for the reward and for motivating someone like me.

Thanks my friend. ♥️
