The Holocaust: Israel's excuse

79 years after the Holocaust, the systematic mass persecution and murder of six million Jews and other ethnic groups - the exact number is unknown - organized by the Nazi regime and its fascist followers. "Holocaust" is a word of Greek origin meaning "sacrifice by fire". By 1933, Europe's Jewish population numbered more than nine million, and most European Jews lived in countries occupied or dominated by Nazi Germany during World War II. By 1945, the Germans and their collaborators had murdered about two out of three European Jews as part of the "Final Solution," Nazi policy to murder the Jews of Europe.

Without a doubt, the Holocaust marked a turning point not only in Germany, but throughout the world. It was after the Holocaust and the Second World War that new concepts were introduced in the field of international relations such as human rights and crimes against humanity under the creation of the United Nations (UN), whose purpose was and is to prevent a conflict of international scale such as the Second World War and genocides such as the Holocaust through dialogue and concerted action by different international actors.

At the time of the creation of the international organization, it had as its first duty to eliminate any kind of imperial subjugation and therefore asked the countries belonging to the Security Council - the winners of the war - to cede all their colonies, it was at this time when Israel, a Jewish nation, was created as a state. This new state created by the war-winning countries was imposed under British territory, what we knew at the time as Palestine. At first it meant dividing this territory in two, one side for the Israelis and the other for the Palestinians, this imposed decision generated a rejection in the whole Middle East, which generated a great number of conflicts and wars since then, to the point that most Arab states do not recognize Israel as a sovereign and legitimate state, they call them usurpers of the Palestinian territory.

Under this constant threat, Israel was safeguarded by the world's largest power, the United States, and because of this Israel has been able to keep itself safe from any attack from neighboring governments, since Israeli interests are protected by the United States. The role that the United States plays for Israel's survival as a state is essential, however, why is there a close relationship between these two countries?

Before we go any further, I would like to make it clear that the purpose of this article is not to be an apology for Palestine and Iran - they too have committed horrendous acts - much less to expressed hatred against any jew as an anti-Semite to the point of reprimanding the Jewish people. The following analysis is based on objective facts and not value judgments.

Texto-para-escribir-titulos.png

There are undoubtedly different reasons why there are close relations between these two countries. As I said earlier, the Second World War changed the focus of the powers and paradigms in the field of international politics. From this point on, international politics can be seen from two different interpretations. A realistic perspective and another idealistic perspective.

International politics can be read in two ways: from the realistic perspective, put forward by Hans Morgenthaum, who stated that international relations are naturally conflictive and their purpose is to obtain power, and from the idealistic perspective, put forward by Woodrow Wilson, who stated that obtaining peace and cooperation from all the nations of the world is the end of international relations, and the means of obtaining them are peaceful means.

However, knowing this, relations between these two countries may still seem ambiguous - what is the real interest?

There are many reasons for this, but I will propose two. The first is the geopolitical position that the United States obtains by having Israel as an ally state. During the Cold War, having influence in the Middle East was part of U.S. interests, so having close relations with the Israeli state allowed it. Since then, Israel has worked for common interests with the power, this can be seen in its actions to neutralize groups like ISIS, overthrow the government of Bashar al-Assad or put an end to the radical Palestinian, Jordanian and Lebanese movements.

In addition, Israel has served as an intermediary in the US arms supply to movements that are little accepted by public opinion, and the constant wars in which Israel has been involved have served as a testing ground for improving US military effectiveness. In exchange for Israel's support in the Middle East, the US represents the greatest support for its security, to the point of turning it into a military power in the region, after signing the largest military aid agreement in US history.

The second reason would be the influence of Jewish lobbies in the United States. As a small nation surrounded by enemies, it functions as an argument of moral support until this nation directly attacks, harms or generates more inconveniences than politically positive responses to its benefactor, such as espionage operations, qualified as the most aggressive by allied countries, direct military attacks, international conflicts or consequences with insurgent groups that have no link with the United States. And why does the United States continue with Israel?

The trip that President Richard Nixon made to Israel a few days before he resigned as a result of the Watergate case. Nixon, who made a series of recordings that were made public, branded as anti-Semitic, Nixon talks about the power of Jews in the United States, especially the political influence they exerted. In these same influences we could understand the actions of the current president of the United States, Donald Trump, who appointed three Zionist Jews to lead the peace process between Israelis and Palestinians, these Zionists have not only made exasperating donations to the state of Israel but have also donated to the most radical Jewish sectors of the occupied West Bank, such as Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law.

This case was not the only one; in the early 1990s, George Bush Sr. appointed a team of six American mediators to consolidate the Madrid and Oslo peace process; it was purely by chance that all six were Jews and recognized Zionists. This may help to understand why the peace process has never moved forward.

Not only has the peace process made no progress since the Madrid Conference in 1991, but it has also made a huge step backward. Today it is practically impossible to imagine a solution to the conflict. Israel has been creating fait accompli on the ground with the blessing of the United States and in the face of the passivity of the European Union, which has acted as a necessary accomplice.

The influence of the Jewish lobby in the United States has paralyzed any action in the United Nations Security Council, a body that is flagrantly ineffective in all matters concerning Israel, with resolutions that have not been implemented for more than half a century due to the relationship between the United States and Israel.

Israel has marked the direction and the lobby has simply carried out the orders. Israel has not been afraid to defend its interests, even in a risky manner when needed, which has been the case on more than one occasion.

For example, in the 1950s, bombing American and British cultural centers in Cairo in the well-known Lavon Case, from which the Jewish state emerged unscathed despite having publicly acknowledged Mossad's direct involvement in the bombing. Or by sinking the American ship Liberty in the eastern Mediterranean, an action for which the Americans never called him to account.

Pro-Israel lobbies, such as AIPAC, or CUFI, are powerful organizations, made up of businessmen, politicians, or members of civil society with a high level of influence in U.S. decision-making regarding the Middle East or the well-being of the Israeli community, resulting from congressional and executive branch campaign funding, presence in the political spectrum, and ongoing negotiations with government leaders.

This influence is reflected especially in the economic privileges of US loans to Israel or the unconditional political support given by the US to the Israeli nation, which has forced it to take decisions that isolate it from the rest of the world and generate frequent consequences such as international conflicts and the hindering of its relations with the other countries of the Middle East.

The special relationship of friendship between the two countries, which contributes to maintaining permanent instability in the Middle East, has wounded the peace process to the death. And there's nothing to indicate that things are going to change.

Even knowing all this, how is it possible that the state of Israel is not being penalized?

Returning to what was said at the beginning, everything is due to the Holocaust. The Holocaust is the preferred support and deadly weapon to reject any kind of criticism of Israel. The Holocaust is the sword and shield of the State of Israel since it legitimizes the military occupation of Palestine, it is used as a political rhetorical strategy to exonerate Israel for its human rights violations and all its bad practices. The holocaust that the Israeli state preaches is nothing more than an ideological construction to justify U.S. aid to Israel. Thanks to the brilliant propaganda campaign this is the human tragedy that shines brighter than any other in history even when this was not the greatest genocide in history - Stalin's Great Purge or the Chinese genocide killed far more people than Hitler.

The Holocaust, from the point of view of international relations, is a valid argument for both war and peace. On the one hand, we have the European approach of looking passively at Israeli actions, the message of the Second World War and the Holocaust is to avoid illegal, aggressive wars based on lies, because these can bring out the worst in each country to the point of leading it to commit genocide of such magnitude. On the other hand, there is the American approach, which is based on the teachings of Munich (There was an opportunity to end the war and avoid the Holocaust), the message is that if we do not confront the aggression, terrible things will happen to innocent people. Therefore Munich is applicable to any scenario of new paradigms and international conflicts. That is why everything must be done to prevent a repetition of a Holocaust-like situation.

According to Munich, the war in Iraq had a great impact on the suffering of the Jews. Saddam Hussein was an enemy of the Israelis who swore death to the state of Israel, therefore - and in order not to repeat history - the US was called upon to act against it, while the state of Israel supported and confirmed the version of weapons of mass destruction to promote the invasion of Iraq for its own interests. And so Israel continues to manipulate both the European states and the United States. It is the perfect alibi that Zionism brings to light when it commits horrific massacres such as those of Sabra and Chatila, the extermination operations in Gaza or the West Bank.

The truth is that the Holocaust has been exploited as a moral resource by many of its politicians, since the rule of Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion, the Israeli state has insisted that Israel remains prone to live a new holocaust. But let's face it, neither the Israelis nor the Jews face an imminent threat of extermination like the Holocaust or something like that. The state is making political propaganda using guilt and exploiting people's ignorance.

Tony Judt, a Zionist and intellectual of the 20th century, claimed that

Cita-de-bloque-Recuperado.png

One only needs to question it and ask the right questions to realize the media's use of the Holocaust to exonerate Israel from its actions.

Even a spokeswoman for the Israeli embassy, Tzipora Menache, acknowledged that the state of Israel cultivates and exploits German guilt.

Cita-de-bloque-Recuperado.png

Texto-para-escribir-titulos.png

Ruth Amir, Head of the Multidisciplinary Studies Department at jezreel's Academic Faculty, stated that

Cita-de-bloque-Recuperado.png

The Israeli state has managed through rhetoric to deactivate the link between an action and its consequences and for this reason they are able to absolve themselves of any responsibility after committing an atrocity.

Prime Minister Golda Meir, after the Eichmann trial, the following words:

Cita-de-bloque-Recuperado.png

Meir commented at the same time that he would never forgive his enemies for forcing them to kill them. More unbridled victimhood.

Another comment that highlights this use of victim rhetoric is Prime Minister Menachem Begin, before the bombing of Beirut in the first Lebanon war, he said:

Cita-de-bloque-Recuperado.png

Victimism allows the individual in this case - the Israeli state - to be free from all blame and to have the support of the entire international community. That is precisely why Israeli leaders have managed to put the peoples of the world at their feet.

To return to what had been said before, the problem would be that since the Second World War the language of human rights has been taking the place of the Holocaust in diplomatic and moral discourse.

The hypocrisy of international bodies when it comes to Israel is truly incredible. How far will Israeli victimhood and the use of the Holocaust to continue committing acts of rape go? For the time being, as long as it continues to be supported by European countries and the United States, there is no positive picture of this. However, more and more people are becoming aware of the use and manipulation of this historical fact, so I would venture to say that it will take years until the value of the holocaust and the victimizing rhetoric really stops working.

I understand that there are many things to be said on this subject, and many things that are not yet conclusive, therefore I will probably continue to talk about them in the future.

@blackliberal, I must commend you for your excellent posts and the depth of thought you put into them. You have guts to touch on a sensitive subject, because you run the risk of being called an antisemite etc etc. The “holocaust” is indeed the sacred cow that is brandished to justify the existence of Israel and the misdeeds it has perpetrated since then. People tend to forget that it is the Balfour Declaration in 1926 whereby England started the process of ceding territories that were not theirs to give to them for the establishment of a Jewish state. (Apart from the Vatican where else do we see a country defined by and purposed for a faith?).
I don’t know how it is in Venezuela, but in Europe the holocaust-as-sacred-cow frenzy is at such an absurd pitch that even engaging in a scientific discussion or empirical research threatening any aspect of the official narrative is a highly dangerous activity punishable by fines, imprisonment and for sure the destruction of one’s (academic) career. Scholars and scientists such as Faurisson, Leuchter, Zundel, Irving and Rudolf are branded “revisionists” the same way as heliocentrists were called heretics under the Inquisition.
With the holocaust hoisted to the level of a quasi religious belief, we have a situation where threats, actual physical and financial harm and ad hominem attacks replace scientific discourse.
The real issue is the limits on freedom of thought and freedom of speech because it is “offensive”.
As to the victim’s anger to justify their own victimization of other, I don’t think it has been given enough focus in victimology research.
(Accessorily, if we did pursue a enquired purely based on facts and evidence and if the conclusions denied the official narratives of such events as the holocaust or 9/11, well …)

(Apart from the Vatican where else do we see a country defined by and purposed for a faith?).

Pakistan created at the same time as Israel by the UN just like Israel,
supported by US military funding just like Israel,
Created as an Ethno-religious state just like Israel,
Huge displacement of populations due to it's creation just like Israel,

Yet it also differs from Israel in that,

Even though Pakistan is responsible for the worst genocide of the 20th century, 3 million people killed in nine months ,

No condemnation from the UN or critics like you who pretend your condemnation is based on morality, complete silence.

https://steemit.com/history/@openparadigm/a-comparison-of-the-crimes-of-two-countries-and-how-they-are-viewed-by-the-world-part-two

I can list many other ethno-religious states if you like.

You are right, Pakistan wasn't even on my radar when I made that comment. Thanks for including the link in your post.

I used to think Israel was an oppressive nation and then I started to ask myself "How do other governments act in similar situations?"
My own country Canada faced a terrorist threat from the separatist PLQ after one kidnapping our very liberal prime minister Pierre Trudeau declared martial law throughout the country and rolled out the tanks. One of my friend's Dad went out to protest martial law and hand out PLQ literature, which was verboten, and was promptly arrested.

Compare that with this

From the Oslo Accords (Sept. 1993) until September 2000 - nearly 300 Israelis were killed in attacks.

During the Palestinian Al-Aqsa Intifada (Sept. 2000 - Dec. 2005) another 1,100 Israelis were killed.

Since December 2005, Palestinian terrorist attacks have claimed at least another 223 Israeli lives.

http://www.johnstonsarchive.net/terrorism/terrisrael.html

Any moral comparison between the actions of the Israelis and the actions of Islamic Supremacists (which the PLO/Fatah certainly are) shows the Arabs in a very bad light.

The evil deeds of any one camp do not justify or condone the evil deeds of their opponents. We can throw the USA in that infernal mix. Their actions have caused millions of death around the world. There are so many layers to this mess, another being the spread of the caliphate through the officially sanctioned invasion of the EU. The rule of corporations and banks over civilian governments. Not mentioning the erosion of privacy and free speech. One fine mess after another. We don't have enough lifetimes to fight all this injustice (not that it's an excuse not to)...
It is Sunday afternoon, so just a little lightness to close.

When your defending yourself from evil deeds violence is your right and is not evil.

Ever notice that Israel is not committing "evil" against Jordan or Egypt recently?

Ever considered that those who do not attack Israel have nothing to fear from Israel like the %20 of the Israeli population that is Arab and are more prosperous than Arabs in the surrounding area.

Thanks for your comment!

As a student of the German Language, I'm involved with their culture. It was quite shocking for me to know throughout my readings that Germany banned any kind of speech of the Holocaust, it's almost impossible to talk about it from a different perspective in Germany, digging deeper I found that's the same case in other countries. Seems like people is so afraid and as you said the Holocaust is being hoisted at a level of religious belief, which make it unquestionable - don't get me wrong, I do believe in the Holocaust, There's plenty of empirical evidence of it.

I know the Holocaust is a very sensitive and emotional subject, nonetheless, there's much more to be addressed regarding this issue such as what is going on with Israel, that's why I'll keep raising my voice and talk about this issues. I'm not trying to be a conspirator or to initiate something like that. I'm trying to do what other's tried and were regarded as non-intellectual.

It is absolutely fascinating to tease the post-war propaganda from the facts, and how their interplay is continuing to have an impact on currents events. Meanwhile what has been unleashed, regardless of the initial reasons or their initial validity or lack thereof, has developed into major issues in their own right and their genesis is only partially relevant. Regardless of where the finger eventually points, the search for the truth and the fight for justice and peace are paramount. Too many people are suffering at the hands of Israel and its allies, primarily the United States, for us to keep quiet. So yes, let's keep raising our voices.

Wow! I hope I could write like this. Keep it up bro.

Excellent work as always 🇨🇦👍🏻🐳

Under this constant threat, Israel was safeguarded by the world's largest power, the United States, and because of this Israel has been able to keep itself safe from any attack from neighbouring governments.

What a false sentence, where was the US during the war in 1948? Why was the US providing intelligence for the Arabs in the 1967 war( that's what the USS Liberty was doing)? Why did they rescue Yasser Arafat and the PLO when they lost the war in Lebanon?

When has the US protected Israel from attack? Name one time the US has militarily protected Israel.

This may help to understand why the peace process has never moved forward.

A better reason is that the Palestinians have rejected every offer of peace and said(many times) that they will accept nothing less than Israel's destruction.

Even knowing all this, how is it possible that the state of Israel is not being penalized?

Penalized for what ? Defending themselves from their enemies? The Arabs who ethnically cleansed them from the entire middle east. You speak about the Israel lobby yet fail to mention the Arab lobby that spends 13 dollars for every dollar spent by Jews on lobbying.

Hi, thanks for your comment. I must first say that I don't have a full stand on this issue. What is previously stated is not an apology of Palestine nor an attack against the Jew's people. Being said so I'm gonna answer what you just said.

When has the US protected Israel from attack? Name one time the US has militarily protected Israel.

Providing the last and most advanced equipment for war inst an example of safeguarding its ally? Also with the double standard speech of banning Nuclear Weapons, when In fact Israel has plenty of them? or all the vetos against Israel wrongdoings in the Security Council? Maybe in the 15 vetos between 1991 and 2011 in the UN-security council in all the actions that Israel State has carried out against Palestine with everyone against?

A better reason is that the Palestinians have rejected every offer of peace and said(many times) that they will accept nothing less than Israel's destruction.

How would you accept a treat that violates your right of self-determination? Your sovereignty and your internal peace? Nonetheless, it's also Palestine's fault due to their lack of leadership in this agreement and also the way they have been educated, to put them in places of victimization.

Penalized for what? Defending themselves from their enemies?

So, you defense yourself murdering innocent people, violating the agreements, and appropriating territory that wasn't assign to you in the agreements? They keep the excuse of bombing places that undermine Israel's national security just as the EE.UU, who have carried out so many interventions in the middle east on behalf of Israel and Its own safety creating the 9/11, killing so many innocent people with the excuse of nuclear weapons in Irak and Afganistan. They keep lying to everyone with the excuse of eradicating radical extremist in the middle east, but what a coincidence that The oil's supply that came from the areas where ISIS have control is not removed from the markets and, in fact, are commercialized by ARAMCO.

EE.UU and Israel keep undermining the peace and the resolutions of the conflicts in the whole Arab World. Israel as a State has done so much harm and damaged to the world and it hasn't even been penalized for their actions just because they keep using the Holocaust as an excuse for their wrongdoings. And this is something that I do not only agree with, but many Zionist also recognized it as Tony Judt or Timothy Snyder. To understand much more of this there's plenty of sources and intellectuals that have already talk about the Israel's wrongdoings

You speak about the Israel lobby yet fail to mention the Arab lobby that spends 13 dollars for every dollar spent by Jews on lobbying.

Yes, the same lobby that keeps supplying terrorist and is, in fact, a part of the problem, but no. They decided to inflict damage to those countries who are actually fighting against the Islamic state just because they do not agree with Israel. The Islamic State is an organization made up full of Saudi Arabians and what has done the EE.UU against them? I dont see any American soldier invading Saudia ARABIA? they keep strengthing the bonds just because of greed and lust. Evidence has also come to light about the Saudi Arabian government financing radical groups, what has done the EE.UU against them? Anything, oh wait, yes they have, they created ALQAEDA. The lobby that you are talking about, is in fact, a lobby that also protects the interests of the Zionist and the EE.UU in the middle east.
