📷 Steemit Photo Challenge #6 — Theme Announcement + NEW GIVEAWAY! | Aug. 25 - 28 | Guest Judge @dercoco!

SPC#6

Last weekend we had a lot less entries than normal. This is because I forced photographers to take a brand spanking new image that weekend, which is particularly difficult with portraits! So because we had such a hard one last time, we're going to have an easier one. I'd still like you to go out and take a new photograph, but I won't force it with the verification.

At the very least, use a photo that has not been posted to Steemit before!

Guest Judge for SPC#6 — @dercoco!

This week for Steemit Photo Challenge #6, let's see your

Natural Landscapes

Get your Ansel Adams on and go out into nature to capture the grandeur of landscape.
See lots of his photos here

Other landscapes can be found here

I want to see wide shots of landscape featuring trees, mountains, fields, rivers, sea or all of the above!
You can do colour or black and white.

I don't want it to feature man-made objects heavily. IDEALLY no traces of humans. If there's a tiny house up on a mountain, fine.. I'm not going to penalise for small traces once it doesn't feature heavily. But the ideal would be absolutely NO traces of humans.

These are made possible by the support of the community, the majority of the post rewards go towards the winners, plus donations by @berniesanders the official sponsor of the Steemit Photo Challenge.

Consider hosting your images with Steemimg created by @blueorgy

It is the first dedicated Steemit Image hosting website, set up with tag categories for easy viewing of images, and is also a sponsor of the Steemit Photo Challenge. It's also really convenient for copying markdown for multiple images. I suggest uploading to an account rather than as a guest, to keep your images tied to your name.

One caveat, I don't want to see any man-made items in the photos.

Wanted to highlight this because I almost missed it myself.

I am going to relax this slightly and say that I don't want it to feature heavily. IDEALLY would be no traces of human! If there's a tiny house up on a mountain, fine.. I'm not going to penalise for small traces once it doesn't feature heavily.

Thanks for re-mentioning that, blue.

All natural this time!

meaning without a trace human?

Well I'm not sure about that, have to ask @jamtaylor

Love this challenge, Ansel Adams is one of my favorite artists and natural landscapes are a chance to get out into nature!

Awesome! I missed last weekend due to being super busy. (I do look forward to another one in future where the image must be shot during the contest) I am going to try and have at least one of these be new for the contest. Anyway, thanks!

Ideas for the next challenges:

  • the city
  • dark places
  • things on rails
  • things on wheels
  • wild mammals

I would definitely be down for dark places or the city. Love architectural and night shots.

Relying on someone else as a model last week was my downfall... Arranged for a Sunday afternoon session, and they bailed on me on the day.

"There's always next week" I told myself, and here we are! Good luck everyone, and thanks @jamtaylor for continuing these! Great fun!

Excellent choice for category! I'll be heading out to capture something new shortly.

Good reason to be outdoors and capture nice shots. I feel the same way as you!

I want to win this time!

AAAAA!!!! Cooool!!!
I go to chat!))
Thanks!!!

Nice - should bring out some great pics, as for verification, perhaps an encouragement award to the landscape shot that has "Steemit Photo Challenge #6" in a HOLLYWOOD sign-esque verification in the background?? :)

Just joking by the way!
