Good day Steemian and welcome to today's Steem price update for 5/12/2020.
I have been posting the Steem price update since almost the very beginning of Steemit.com back in 2016 along with other content.
Many have came here to discuss the daily Steem price's and recent STEEM changes for now over 4 years.

If you tire of addictively looking at the charts every few minutes then instead just relax and look here for the average daily STEEM price for your daily plan or strategy.
And even if you are not planning to do anything with your STEEM I still recommend checking out these updates every so often.
So without further ado lets take a look at today's Daily Steem Price for 5/12/2020.

Holy smokes!! I knew we were very close but I didn't expect it to happen today! So basically what's happened is I just reached a reputation of 70, Wow I never imagined getting here when I first started on Steemit 4 years ago. Now I know many say rep means nothing and in one sense that is very true as I saw many time's over people simply paying for having that high reputation score and so today on Steemit there are many who are 70 but got there by spending money rather then cultivating that number which would of been actually great if all that money wasn't powered down in the end. On the other hand I have not paid for my rep and I guess that shows as I have been on here for a long time and have just made it. And so for me it bares some meaning and I think to those who are new on Steemit and don't really have as many options to pay their way to having a good rep it will probably have some meaning to them plus they will enjoy their journey getting there and so baring more meaning for the time and effort they have put into being active on here. Regardless of how you view it we will be celebrating it on this ship and to celebrate it I will be buying and adding another 20 STEEM Power tonight as move forwards towards Quad Dolphin.

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas with both the Steem and the SBD price going up. I decided to do a promotion for #SPUD4STEEM and so took part in the event, you do have to power-up some STEEM in order to take part and so my contribution was a powered-up of 320💚 STEEM🏆. This recent power-up along with the support of others gives us the best head start towards our new goal of reaching Quad Dolphin status. There are various reason's as to why I was able to save abit more money in order to buy into more STEEM. Firstly was because my internet went down, this means I didn't get to buy and power-up while I was offline, also the covid virus had stopped many events from taking place during the busy October and November period saving me money, lastly I was able to do this because this November there was no travelling for the next Steemfest event, and so those savings have gone towards buying more STEEM.

But here we are now in December our last month in 2020, and what a year it's been right? Under 25 days away from Christmas too, today didnt actually rain which was nice but it was still very cold as expected. Today I was back to work with an early shift which I was no so prepared for, ever since I had that night when the cold woke me up I have been mostly going to sleep late because of just trying to do all the things I want. So I almost ended up late but still at a good time for the boss not to moan instead some else came in a few moments later to which he started commenting about. He was definitely being he's normal rude pushy self today and so I was happy to get out of work at an earlier time today and regardless of the cold I took the long way home to relax and get a little sun. I also played the retro first release of the game Aladdin the game is quite difficult but not because of it's difficulty but I find there are some hit and misses with the mechanics. My cat Tinkerbell had relocated to the living room now and my other cat Ryan as taken over her spot near the banister and doorway. TinkerBell seems a little down lately but since moving into the living room she seems slightly better. The Diary Game now continues on with Season 3, you can check it out if you fancy a chance at winning a possible large upvote Steemit Diary Season 3.

Speaking of keeping things running the covid19 madness continues on with being partially out of lockdown 2. The whole thing make's no sense for many different reasons including it was never even announced that we were out of the first one. The traffic on most days as got far worse and I think this is because people are using them more now to avoid public transport and not catch the covid. I have worked all during this crisis as our company used a loophole within the system to keep us all working despite our government stating that all non-essential work places must close for lockdown 1. It was either work or be fired kind of attitude, but as for lockdown 2 we are this time permitted to stay running on site. Right now they are saying we are going to have a "Christmas Week", meaning everybody can go round everybody's houses during this "one week" but if possible dont.. If many take this over and the virus spreads they will then enforce a "Hard Lockdown" for 25 days...? And so now most people are baffled and divided by this as they worry it will cause a huge spike in covid cases.. I mean argh what can you say it's a mess.. Apparently new covid cases have gone down by %30 since lockdown 2 which I would love to know how that is even possible considering everything as been literally running in the same way before lockdown 2 even started.. honestly so much of this just seems like total BS. The vaccine is now said to be ready and will roll out, those who are 80 are to be vaccinated first. The most effective one is said to be around %94 but honestly we all seem to be forgetting this as not even been properly time tested which does make me feel apprehensive about it. There is a guy in government who wants people to take the vaccine or shut out from society which I don't see how that is exactly public choice.

Anyway the focus of Steemit continues on with their new "1000 days of Steem" after the initial success of the "100 Days Of Steem Announcements". These have now became motivating for many Steemians as the SteemitTeam offer winners prizes in the form of a large upvotes. Well Justin did say he would continue working to make STEEM a success but whether this is the right way is debatable, but the BIG news on also earning TRON token I feel adds alot more value to the Steemit platfrom, other thing that give me hope are Expanding the Country Representative and even more so Steem Entrepreneurs Program. So with the Diary Game 3 running.. what else? Firstly did you guys check out the winner for the previous dairy game? Well they have finally been announced here Season 2 WINNERS and the TEAMS? well right here Diary Game Season 2 TEAM Winners. Well right now with the crypto challenge over you can check out instead A Better Life With STEEM along with some other challenges if you fancy your chances.

💚Since the price rise back in February unfortunately not much as changed over the months, and while yes it did go down to $0.09 it still mostly stayed between $0.18 and $0.20. There was also that mystery spike rise on March 19th taking Steem to $0.40💛! Infact it seems Steem as not been this cheap "around $0.15" since sometime last November and even falling to $0.14 sometimes. I must say that last time Bitcoin was rising this much we started to see Steem going upwards but this time not so much, I assume this means many are still selling as the price raises we did see some movements with Steem rising to $0.20. Atleast people can't complain about the price being too volatile as Steem as been mostly steady over the year. Still this opportunity is a great price to "power-up" your account cheaply and if you are under 10000 SP you might want to consider getting some, I don't say this as a way to improve your financial situation but rather to enjoy the benefits of having Steem, speeding up your account's Steem accumulation etc, after-all a small bump in price with those holding's would bring-in some nice noticeable benefits to those with some skin in the game.

💛 So it was just a few days ago that we reached "🐬TRIPLE DOLPHIN🐬" which means our collective STEEM POWER is now just slightly over 💚15000 SP!! We will of course continue to collect and lock-up even more STEEM! My new goal 🌍 now is to reach 20.000 SP🏆, hopefully by June 2021. This is basically not possible in our current situation but if I can get a few whale votes along the way during these next few months then it might just be possible. What we must remember is it's been done before which was thanks to the Diary Game Season 1 and 2 from the "SteemitTeam" plus there were a few other whales who also upvoted here and there. We are already off to a really good start I also powered-up just over 50 STEEM after hitting Triple Dolphin and I plan on buying even more STEEM for the next SPUD event which will definitely be over 50 STEEM. I also want to of course thank everybody else who votes in and for their kind support. I have now been on here for over 4 years and have never powered down once, I also continue to invest into STEEM in small quantities, meaning your votes are safe with me and help retain Steem's value. We totalled 7.841 SP at the end of 2019 and reached 15.000 on November 24th and so if you want to help me on this new quest at locking away 20.000 Steem Power in order to support and retain more of it's value then please consider leaving your best vote below.

As for Bitcoins back on March 13th we saw a huge Bitcoins downwave to $4225, on July 26th it hit 💚$10000. Bitcoins as been going slowly upwards since March this year despite the covid19 virus, and even hitting $19000 this November. As for the SBD's on Feb 13th it hit $1.00, and so we can't deny SBD's have been doing very well since getting past that Bitcoin drop, we even saw SBD's go up to $1.24. That was a few months ago more recently we saw a jump to $1.46 and then hitting $1.84 on November 18th. I mentioned the other day that this spike probably wouldn't last long and had fallen to $1.16 which I doubted would last for very much longer either but heck have you seen it's price today! But still it's remained more stable then ever around that $1.00 mark where it should be, yet unfortunately we have seen a little too often now it going below $1.00.
