It's time for me to change the way I have been using Steemit till now!!! Your opinions are most welcomed!
Hello my dear Steemit friends!
I hope you are all having a great start of the week in whichever part of the world you are! I am having a nice one upto now!
Ok let's go directly to the subject of today's post as it is really a very important one for me and my future ways on Steemit!
As you read on the title of this post, it's great time for me to change the way I have been using Steemit till now! Yes my dear friends, I will explain in details below why I reached such a decision today!
Today is my 67th day here on this awesome platform and I am really enjoying it! I have indeed met so many wonderful Steemians with whom I just enjoy chatting and sharing our passion and I am sure I will meet many more soon!
During these 67 days , I have made a total of 3536 posts/comments and reached a reputation score of 57.7. All the comments I made are real ones where I always deeply engage with the authors and people commenting on my posts!
I am sure many of you can confirm this!

p.s. Oh yes my voting power is always drained like that, as I really upvote all the people on my following list everyday!
For these 67 days, I had a daily routine that I put in place, that is; checking ALL THE POSTS made by ALL THE PEOPLE on my following list EVERYDAY!
Some days I had like +300 posts to read, and i read them all!
And I was really doing it everyday morning till night, I was always engaging on everyone's posts, upvoting and giving valuable comments!
But today I have decided to stop this practice!!!
The minimum I was expecting was to at least see these people engaging back at least once or twice on my post, but no, it was only practically the same ones who were coming back to my posts!
I will not say that I regret my actions, but it was really a good lesson for me and i will be more careful in the future!
I am not writing this because I am looking for more payouts, no my friends, it's more than that! It's about humanity, it's about sharing, it's about respect...
So to conclude this will be my way forward beginning as from today!
I will be engaging to only those who drop a comment on my posts and of course I will be checking on others posts too, but not as before! I will not stress myself if i miss any of these people posts like i was before today!
I have a big project coming up soon with Steemit Iron Chef and i will use my precious time helping out the amazing foodies on the platform rather than losing time with people who does not even have minimum respect for me!
There is also the wonderful Steemitculinarychallenge that I just enjoy participating on a weekly basis by @woman-onthe-wing + my friend @jaybird's steemitsandwichcontest which is also a weekly contest!
So here we are dear friends, this is what I had to share with you all for today!

Hi @progressivechef... Yes.. What you said in your post is entirely true. Even I was doing the same thing. Without knowing the things, I went on reading a large number of posts and kept upvoting everyone, and I got my voting power drained a lot...
But at the same time, it is also a must to maintain a good group of friends around us, so as to get some support for our posts, without neglecting our valued friends here....
I realized a fact that... It is better to keep a gap of 24 hrs or more, in between our two posts, so that our friends will be able to upvote, without losing their voting power. So since last few days I started keeping a gap in between my two posts.
Have to see how it works...

Absolutely well said @geetharao, i have infact posted only once per day the last 2 months, it is really necessary not to post each and every hour, this will make your followers get fed up with you if the content is not good one!
I think the best way out is to have real friends who really enjoy your post and interact with them will be more fun actually!

No, you definitely shouldn't do that! Don't feel bad about missing people's posts, we all have that problem. There are too many people posting too many things for us to be able to keep up with it all.
I miss quite a few posts, more than I'd like to admit. I just don't have the time to read them all, or even scroll through them all. My first priority is to put out my own blogs and check out every comment I get (and reply to most). I then check out my Home feed for interesting articles, but I never manage to scroll all the way back to the previous day. I should unfollow some people maybe, but it's hard to pick which ones... I like most, so for now, I just miss some of their posts, but vote for the ones I don't miss...
I do think i will adopt your way of doing things, it's really the best! Concentrate on making my own post first then reply to every comments and only then check out for some interesting posts in my feed! I was doing it the wrong way before and was keeping my post to be the last thing to do!

There's no real 'right' or 'wrong' way of doing it, it just depends on your own priorities. Some people love curating and reading articles, others enjoy sharing their own stuff more. Just do what you feel is best for you and you'll be fine! Just make sure to keep your sanity and don't burn yourself out over trying to be 'fair' too much :D

Differing approaches at least, and yeah you make some good points. You've got a reasonable level of interaction so far in the scheme of things, nice one.

I totally agreee with this post @progressivechef I myself spend a lot of time daily going over posts of those I am following. I upvote and comment on many however I have noticed that a lot of my followers dont really seem to be 'followers' or ever send any love my way. I guess the wholet hing with steemit is to follow those who interest you and those whom you can interact with and become steemit friends. Steemit is a community however ive noticed a lot of the new accounts have not been active in a long time so many of my followers probably are just not using steemit anymore.
And so many users are stopping to use steemit mainly because of the situation that i've experienced! If the 'love' was really shared between everyone making great content posts, there would have been a lot more of users and interaction going on!
I am again going to refresh my 'following list' and flush the ones who has never ever engaged with me the last 2 months!

Tell me about Steem Iron Chef?
Absolutely right my friend!
Steemit iron chef is a different type of cooking contest actually! I'm planning to run it each week, and there will be 3 prizes - 1st, 2nd and 3rd!
Then different points will be awarded to all contestants and they will compete on a league type till the end of the year. And the one who tops the league at the end of the year will be named as Steemit Iron Chef.
I have created an account @steemit-ironchef which will hold all SBD's made till end of the year, this will be the reward pool for the winners at the end of the year!
A lot of gains really for the ones entering the contest.
The weekly themes will be very easy and always based on a fruit or veg!
Do let me know if you wish to enter, it will be really very fun!
