I've been really getting into the swing of this and it seems I have enough material to blog at least five days a week. I say at least because I could actually post daily if I was to approach this more like social media than a blogging site. While that is possible and I'm sure some do, I find most serious bloggers here adopt a less-is-more approach and space things out.
I think of it as a daily column or zine. I enjoy writing and my mind is always going, so it comes quite natural to me to sit down and tap out some paragraphs. I also enjoy being creative with images and my love of graffiti makes me want to get creative with headers and dividers, as you can see (I do use some free templates and such to help me out, see my #welcome posts for some links).
I've also always loved graphic and web design, both of which I've gone to school for, neither of which I feel I've ever been great at. But boy do I enjoy it. Of course, doing these things simultaneously - writing, design and formatting - is what makes this work. I learned early on that this platform offers something beyond your run-of-the-mill social media and a chance to accrue value and monetize your efforts. I feel that while I and many others have much to offer in terms of content, I also feel it is fair to take our time formatting it in such a way as to convey it in an expressive manner. And from what I see here , most of you are doing just that.

After about two months getting to know steemit and falling into some semblance of a routine with it and after some time developing a relationship with several steemians on the Peace Abundance & Liberty Discord server, I figured I should develop a formula of sorts and make this process of blogging streamlined and efficient. As well, a number of my real life friends and family, and one or two from social media, were finally having thier steemit accounts approved and coming to me left and right asking WTF they were supposed to do now. I felt overwhelmed, and I empathized. As savvy as I am with all things digital, I too had to do the proverbial head wrapping around this blockchain-based virtual conduit to the like minded.
So I decided I would write a #welcome post for my friends and include some very basic beginner tips.
When I first came to steemit I was drawn by (and the way it was explained) the notion that I could utilize a social media site in much the same way I was attempting to use all the platforms you're likely familiar with while monetizing the activity in the form of crypto currency which could be translated to fiat (US dollars). We were up against considerable financial burden here at the homestead and my ability to bring home a fair share of bread was greatly hindered. I began to reach out to good friends, acquaintances and family to encourage them to hop on board and start earning steem by replacing their current daily scrolls and commenting fiascos with a higher calibre of internet.
In the beginning I kept hearing the term pyramid scheme. And my immediate response was no way, you're not buying into anything upfront. I was kinda wrong about that. What you put into steemit is your time and energy. Because of the blockchain and how it works, it's designed to make you want to put more thought into each post. You can't just go on sending every random thought and digitally bicker and argue senselessly. Especially minnows with hardly any SP, your bandwidth is quite limited and you'll learn it quick. So you're earning credit so to speak. The word scheme has always gotten a bad rap. Like you be scheming on some shit or somethin'. A scheme is a plan, and I've had one all along. It just got lost in barrage after barrage of opinionated grammatically-lacking drivel.
I don't know much about the creators and developers of steemit, yet. I shall delve. I have met and now know an honest-to-goodness real life witness however. And I really liked the guy!

If you missed it, I'm sure my five year old, Marley <3, would be thrilled if you watched her ukulele freestyle. Don't waste your upvotes as it's a week old now, but her thank you video is in the comments. She's been working on her freestyle and singing skills and taking it quite serious. Today I was beatboxing for her and she killed it. We'll get another video done soon. Her older sister, Lily, wants to do a cover of The Vestibules "What is in The box?". I like where she's going with it.
I've been meaning to post this video since @adamkokesh was on my podcast two weeks ago and discussed #education. If you haven't heard of Suli Breaks before, get ready to be mind-blown.
I showed this video to a mothly mental health group at school a few years ago. The advisors were impressed. I'm certain they still show it. Let's see if i can get him on the podcast.

I agree totally with your assessment of the "pyramid scheme" and how it translates to here on Steemit. It's all about the effort put in. But honestly I feel like that's life? If you want to get your projects/products/whatever noticed and make money, you have to put in time, effort, and hard work. If anything, it's actually easier on Steemit, because once you get involved in all the discord communities, your world opens up on the Steemit platform!

Steem definitely has a bit of a learning curve attached to it. I haven't decided if that's a blessing or an obstacle to mass adoption yet, but I'm definitely excited to watch how this all progresses.
