M19 Hangin' with WHO 🎙 S2E6 ft. ⛪️ Reverend Steve Brigham of NJ's famous Tent City ⛺️ .
Hangin’ with WHO is a socio-politically charged talk-show I started at WOCC Viking Radio Ocean County College, in NJ, while earning a psychology degree several years ago. Having been on college and internet radio since the 90s curating underground music genres and interviewing underground Hip Hop legends, it seemed the next logical step for my career. I’ve been a social media activist and proponent for radical social reform immersed in anarcho-agorist/socialist circles for many years, which my roster of past and upcoming guests will reflect. In addition to reporting from the frontlines of the miserably failed War on “Drugs”, a segment of each podcast will be sponsored by #EHO and cover the topics of #sustainability, #zerowaste and #mentalhealth & #wellness, in that order. Each week, the podcast will be accompanied by subsequent and concurrent blogging. The opinions expressed on Hangin’ with WHO do not necessarily reflect that of the sponsors, guests nor audience.

Reverend Steve Brigham and I covered a lot of ground on this episode. At the end, you'll hear me tell him that I need him back on the show soon. I meant it. We went from talking about how he came to leave his very well paying job to invest his retirement fund in helping homeless people around the Jersey Shore establish and develop a sustainable off-grid encampment for year round living to their battles with local politicians and Lakewood cops to their now even more sustainable encampment along Route 9. They live free from government assistance and accept completely voluntary decentralized charitable donations of food and clothing and many other needs. They have an organic garden as well as newly erected greenhouses. They currently use solar power to charge phones and run LED lights. They're building a workshop as well so that they may begin to create marketable goods and offer services.
I pitched my idea about having the homeless community join steemit and start an initiative to use crypto generated through blogging and podcasting to fund a move towards more sustainable off-grid living such as solar, wind and tiny houses. The reverend said he was totally with it and our good friend and Destiny's Bridge board member, Lisa Rose Ferrara, has agreed to hop onboard and help out. This is great news and I can't wait to see them create the first blog post. I'm still a minnow, but I promise to delegate as much as I can spare when I see their account active.
Next time I have Rev. Brigham on the show we are going to talk more about that garden. Perhaps #EHO can help get them grow an abundance of organic non-GMO food 🥗!
Tent City was featured in the documentary Destiny's Bridge. The reverend has put us in touch with the director, Jack Ballo, to see if he is interested in decentralized distribution of the film. I'll invite him on the show in the coming weeks. For now, check out the trailer below.

Hangin’ with WHO 🎙: Tuesdays 🕖 7-10PM EST
Randell Stroud returns to Hangin' with WHO. We've got much to catch up on. He's been training and boxing and now running Nalini Global, a human rights advocacy organization. Take a look at his website and google him, you will find a number of eye opening and mind expanding talks he's given over the years. I had a great talk with him last time and I'm sure we'll have go way more in depth this round. Get it? Round. LOL. He's a boxer. The only sport I actually enjoy and am any good at. Looking forward to it.
🙏 Thank you for your continued support ✊.
