The Top 3 Steemit Articles Of The Week!
Little Background On Why I'm Doing This
I have a lot of hobbies and stuff to do, but my main hobby, well I should probably call it a passion rather than a hobby, but anyway, it's self-development. Wheather it's working out and being more healthy, or educating myself and learning new skills, I just love improving every aspect of my life! And something that comes with this, is me reading A LOT... It might be books, or articles on the internet, for example on Steemit!
There's a lot of valuable and informative content on Steemit, and that's why it's one of my favorite places on the internet to get cryptocurrency and other kinds of interesting content! I probably read tens, or even hundreds of Steemit-articles every week!
And now, I want to start sharing the absolute best articles of the week with you! Now, you don't have to do the work of finding articles that are actually worth the read. Because it's sometimes actually hard to do so, because, sadly, there is so much spammy and useless content floating around on our beautiful Steemit-platform. I want to promote and bring up the posts, and the content creators that actually deserve it!
Most of these articles are going to be about my passions; cryptocurrencies, fitness, fashion, and entrepreneurship. Also, I'm going to try to pick at least one article weekly that isn't from a big content creator, just to support undervalued content and the minnows here on Steemit!
The Top 3 Steemit-Articles Of The Week
#1. How do you handle setbacks? Would love to hear your thoughts
Written by: futureentech
This little article really hit me. Even more, then it should...
Life is never meant to be linear! There will be ups and downs along the way. There will be moments of glorious victories and also there will be moments of heart-wrenching disappointments. These moments are critical because what you do in these moments can determine your ultimate destiny.
This was a great reminder of the fact that there are setbacks in everyone's life, and there's literally no point in dwelling on your past experiences and setbacks.
When you have a setback, you need not take a step back. Prepare and get ready. Charge yourself. Every setback is nothing but a setup for a great comeback.
Everything in this article just reminded me of Sylvester Stallone's quote in Rocky: “Life's not about how hard of a hit you can give... it's about how many you can take, and still keep moving forward.”
As the great mentor of mine Gary Vaynerchuck would say: "The answer to everything is; And?"
It doesn't matter what happened to you, or your family/friends. You might be sad right now, and it's completely normal to be sad, but you need to remember that there's literally no point making up excuses and dwelling in the past sh*t that has happened to you... I can guarantee, there has been someone in this world that has experienced the same stuff you have, but now he/she is successful because he/she got up.
#2. Back to Food Basics : #2 - Proteins
Written by: frenchlondoner
A great article, about arguably, the most important nutrient in our diet. At least for people who do some sort of sports, like me.
One of the big misconceptions we do have, is that protein is meat only. We couldn’t be more wrong. Yes, protein is found in meat, but we can also find multiple sources loads of them being vegetal.
This is very true! And as she says in the article, there are 20 types of 'proteins' out there. Of course, 12 of those are created by our body, but still, there are 8 different types of 'proteins' that are essential for us, and we should get them from the food we eat! If you only eat steak, you won't get all of the 8 types 'proteins' you actually need.
This is why you should really diversify the protein sources you eat. You should definitely focus even more on 'good and essential proteins' that come from different plant-based protein sources! Good examples are beans, peas, nuts, quinoa, chickpeas, and tofu.
The biggest, baddest, bestest food for amino acids is the egg. He has all 8 essential ones in a perfect ratio. Make it your best friend and you’ll see results fast
Of course, don't forget the eggs! They should be an essential part of everyone's diet.
Even though I didn't really learn anything new, this was still a great reminder of the importance of you diversifying your protein sources! Also, I really recommend researching and trying out veganism. I know it's definitely not for everyone, for example, I couldn't live without meat... But still, you should definitely try-out being vegan for few days, or maybe even a week. I actually loved my experience a few months ago when I tried being vegan for a week!
GO GET THOSE VEGAN GAINZ!! (insert 'muscle-emoji' here :D)
#3. Upvote a tree- Charity starts with Steemit. Your upvote will plant trees in Peru. 30 planted to date
Written by: intrepidsurfer
Well, there's not a lot of summarizing here, but I just had to include this on my list because this man is doing something that is really awesome and humble.
He got a brilliant idea that truly shows the opportunity that there is on Steemit! Basically, he started a project where he uses Steemit to plant trees in Northern Peru. He makes a post, and all the money he gets from upvotes will be used to reforest the dry areas in Peru!
A lot of people use the Steemit platform just to benefit themselves. People are greedy, and they just care about the money they're getting. They completely forget the opportunity that this platform is providing. There are so many possibilities that Steemit can be used for, and I'm really looking forward to seeing more campaigns like this!
PS. Go upvote this guy, like seriously! It costs you nothing, and it's the least you can do.
What a week!
