A Steemit degree of sorts
I joined the Steemit family in March this year and it has been a year of firsts for me. If I had asked myself then if I would still be here enjoying myself then it would have been a toss up. I could have gone either way.
Staying the course and growing with everyone else has taught me many things. We know nothing in life is easy and perseverance ,determination along with a thick skin are normally needed.
I have never forgotten @tarazkp mentioning that doing Steemit was like doing a degree. I see that as very true and it set my mind to doing this for a minimum of 5 years no matter what. Steem could be 5 cents or $50 and it makes no difference to me.
I am learning every day on here and things change so quickly. I have missed the goings on of this week and have been catching up today. I had no idea that one of the Dapps was taking a bit of flak over some of it's actions.
What and how we delegate in the future could make or break these Dapps so being upfront is very important. The community is smart and things will rarely be missed. When we choose to delegate to Dapps it is a big decision as it is an investment for our accounts as well. An SMT that does well could set you up for the future and is crucial you back the right ones.
I haven't backed any yet as I have to still grow some more.It is still early days and we can expect a flood of Dapps appearing over the next year.I was told by more than one user to grow yourself first and only once you are strong can you delegate. Those were wise words and it makes perfect sense.

Seems like a wise man. Since you are here for the long haul @cryptoandcoffee there is no need to rush nor to delegate if you don't feel like it.
You know what I'd love to see? A new Dapp that will be introduced to everyone saying: "Hey people we created this amazing app that will benefit users and steem community for this...and that and that reason and we funded it with 500K SP from our own pockets because we believe it is a killer app with great potential, instead for apps that once they are introduced their next goal is how will they receive delegations to operate either from Steemit inc or the community members.
I'd personally like to see a different business model entirely, where the dapp is designed to be developed by the community. Easier said than done, but it's certainly possible and wouldn't require any kind of delegation, although I'm sure a delegation wouldn't hurt.
Why not. All it takes is a brave dev and faith to the community
The great thing about how our stake works here in the ecosystem is that we can always take it back no cost other that the opportunity cost lost during the time of delegation. I have found it an innovative way to fund initiatives in the ecosystem.

I have the same opinion as you do about the value of STEEM. If it went down to 5 cents i would still be on here every day. I find things I am interested in on here every day unlike the usual political drivel and virtue signaling that takes place on FB, for example.

R shares are reward shares, that is the share of the reward pool allocated to a post by voting.
Yep. Basically it's the most accurate unit of measurement possible for fair allocation of upvote value across our member base.
