Upvoting bots aren't made to make you earn money, they are money hunting machines !
Maybe I am risking myself to be flagged, but I just want to write about the truth and what is happening in steemit right now ! I hope we have a freedom of speach here ! Remember that I know a lot of whales who can help me in case you flag me, I can even report to @steemcleaners. And I am a member of a lot of communities on steemit that also can help ! So let's be friends. ☺
Here we go :
Steemit was made 2 years ago to reward people for their posting and commenting. People started to earn very good money from steemit because most people who joined in 2016 were playing the game right ! But more people joined steemit and they felt that they can profit from the system here, so they created upvoting bots. You send some steem to the bot and it upvotes you with a good upvote, because in fact he's losing nothing, steem was very cheap and it was easy to get good power to start upvoting people. In that time the first bots were really profitable maybe. But now take a look at steem-bot-tracker, it's full of bots ! Everyone who has some money can become a bot, even if your upvote is 0.01. ☺ Bots owners figured out that the deal is profitable because we still have a lot of people who don't understand how steemit works. They think if they sent 1 steem to the bot and get $2 upvote, then it's very profitable and they can always double their money. They don't realize that those $2 will be divided by 2 and they get less than they sent because that $2 upvote became about $1.85 and in fact you got back about 0.9 steem or less after sending 1 steem. I won't even talk about the steem power that you get , because I am always investing in the steem power and I invested everything I earned from steemit in it and even invested my own money, but I still have un upvote of about $0.1. And that is always going down because of the price of steem !
So do you think upvoting bots are profitable now ?
Supporting upvoting bots on steemit we are just ruining this amazing social network. Most people here now are doing everything to become an upvote bot. Some of them even propose to share with people 95% from the earning and take only 5% if people delegate to them power. So those upvoting bots are creating more upvoting bots. So steemit will be just full of bots and it won't be a social network, but a bot network. Money machine network ! Do you want to support that now ? Are you afraid to say the truth ? I will personnaly support anyone who will write the truth about bots, I will upvote and resteem anyone who will support that !
People work hard to write a post and they earn cents from it. People are spending hours reading, writing, correcting and formating their posts, and working hard with the quality to get nothing in return ?! Most upvote bots just can't upvote without getting paid. It's a program and they choose that option on purpose ! I'm sick of posting everyday and getting nothing from my hard work ! I'm sick of seeing people losing their money with bots ! I'm sick of seeing people spending hours and days and even months on steemit and getting nothing in return !
Is steemit about money ? Do you see it as a money machine ? Are you afraid to write your own opinion ? Are you afraid of whales ? Do you think whales are all the same ? Oh hell no, there are whales who are supporting minnows and fishies absolutelly for free. Let's take for example : @yoo1900 , he upvotes 5 people everyday with an upvote worth $50 absolutelly for free ! Yes for free, you read it right ! I personnally get an upvote from him ! @surpassinggoogle also is an amazing whale always supporting people with his big upvotes, just for being active in his community. I also feel that @dobartim is creating something huge now and supporting minnows and fishies.
Upvoting bots also can be profitable, but in only one case. If you send them, let's say, about 100 steem and your post will be in hot or trending posts. This is the only case when the upvoting bots are profitable. But again, you need to have the best quality and your post has to provide a real value and whales have to notice it to give you more free good upvotes. So your post will bring you about $200 or more and you may return your invested money that way. I tried upvote bots with 10 and even 20 steem and they didn't give me the effect that I wanted, even the visibility is weak for that amount of money !
I am not against upvoting bots, I just want them to work more fairly and to give people what they deserve. We all are working hard to get that steem, why are you making us lose it ? Please change your system before it's too late. Don't make the half of steemians become bots, so just bots will use other bots, and I am already seeing that. Usually anyone who becomes a bot supports other bots, so you are supporting each other, but not newcommers. Look at the chart of alexa.com, it's going down a bit and even the price of steem is going down and your upvote value is also going down. Let us profit from your service !
I also have a service, but it's not so big and it's not a money machine. I just want to be fair, if people pay 0.1, they get an upvote of about $0.3 + resteems from the group with more than 19,400 users. All upvotes and resteems are manual ! Nothing automatic ! We are people, not robots !
I hope everything will be ok after writing this post, and I hope you will not start a downvoting war with me, because believe me, I will not stop till the system changes. I'm fighting for steemit because I'm inviting people to it. I want them all to be happy about steemit, I want them to stay here, I want them to get a really good reward that they deserve. I will never invite people to a bad thing, let's make it good, please !
I have been posting on steemit for more than 10 months almost everyday, I have almost 4000 followers, and big steemit groups in facebook, I know a lot about steemit, I respect all the rules, I never spam, I always care about the quality, let's be friends. ☺

You have the right to express your view because we are in a free world. I do not use bot at all, and I am against them because it does not bring any value.

Bots are honestly steemit version of advertisement.
The same as advertisement for facebook and google and others, if you put a huge money there you will get the result you want, if you spend little money so you are just losing it for nothing.

That's not all about upvote bots, you forget the steempower you get from their votes, it's a good thing for power up.
Some witnesses created bots, and many dolphins, orcas and whales using bots.
It's also about audience for your posts as you write before...
So it's not a bad thing when you use bots in a normal way..
And Steemit is about money, because you can earn money
The steem power that we get from those bots is funny, it bring nothing to us, if we paid in steem dollar, we need steem dollar in return, I know a lot of people using upvoting bots for months and their upvote still cents, it's very hard to have a good upvote now, I invested more than $1000 in my steem power, so what ? My upvote now is about 0.08 ! You are wrong I think, are you a owner of a bot ?

Unfortunately we can only control ourselves and not what others do. I think right now it will keep going and there's not much we can do about it except not use them ourselves if we feel strongly about them.
I do believe the devs will eventually get around to fixing this though. I mean they have a promoted section, it just isn't very effective, so that means they want that functionality in here. The bots as you mentioned don't guarantee a profit, most will say that upfront, but if as you mentioned you do at least 50 SBD + you are guaranteed visibility. I think that is where the value is. It's not all about that initial profit, but depending on what you're pushing, just getting the eyeballs is probably valuable to you.
So honestly, I feel the bots are a band-aid to a flaw in the design of Steemit. You can't have a separate section where people have to opt-in to go get advertised to. People don't like being advertised to, but its the necessary evil we all put up with so we can have nice things. Redesign the promoted system to something that works, fix the bot problem.
I'm sure it's not as simple as all that, but I believe that's the root.
People will realize the truth and they will understand that they are losing with the bots and a lot of people are building better system to grow even I, and here is my system, if you like you can also join our team : EARN 100% WITH THE GROUP ''STEEMIT FOR RESTEEM ↕'' , I see that we have almost the same steem power and I think we have to coopirate.
