Your top 10 most popular posts by late votes?!!? - Get your list here!
What?! I don't give a $hit about late votes... They don't earn me anything! True, you get no STEEM for late votes, but I think there is more to it than that...
The case for this data pull
I use https://steemworld.org a lot (cheers @steemchiller, great tool!), and now and again I see votes on posts that I wrote some time ago.
Now most people should know, that voting on a post past the payout date (7+ days from creation) will not give the author anything, and to add insult to injury, it will also drain your Steem Power - I just checked :)
What it does do though, is tells me what people liked reading, and are actively searching for. 6 month old posts are a pain to find in any user interface feeds and so they must be being searched for using the Steemit search, or Google, etc?
There is one post I wrote that has popped up with a late vote numerous times, and each time I think, I should write another more up to date one of those - It must be something people are interested in.
What do you think? Interested?
Your list will look something like this:
The 'L Votes' column is the number of votes cast more than 30 days after the post was created.
And the prize for post I wrote with the most late votes goes to, an blog about Swift Demand. I never would have expected that! And you can call me sad, but I think that's interesting information!
Do you want to see what yours are?

Were a couple of my comments that are about 10 days old your test subject? 1% isn't your normal vote I get so was kind of wondering what you had voted on. Looked and realized that the comments were past payout.
You have peaked my curiosity. Now I'm wondering if anyone has late voted any of my posts...not that there are many there to vote on.
hahaha, you got me!
Yes you and @gillianpearce were my test subjects! They were on comments though, and this data only looks at top level Posts.
Lets see....
2 for you!
Very sneaky @abh12345, using me as a test subject after I've gone to bed!
Am I too late for the party? 😊
I'm guessing 0 😂
Yes it was a little sneaky, but take no offence, it was just the first thread of comments I found :)
And yes, you guessed correctly, which as you are only 3 months in, is not that surprising and shouldn't be taken to heart. Have a good Friday :D
No offence taken @abh12345. I actually felt quite honoured! 😁
I watch what happens on steemd a couple times a day. Just habit to refresh that screen and take a look. Just started using SteemWorld yesterday and think that might become my go to for quick reference of who voted. Like the layout they have.
Thanks for the list.
Yeah I find steemworld much easier on the eye, and it updates every 30 seconds I think.
It's open all the time along site Steemit :)
No worries, thanks for asking!
I keep a ton of windows open at all times and this just added to the list. My Wife thinks I'm crazy, but it's how I keep track of everything. If I close a window I might forget to check for a few days.
Agree it is very visually appealing. Think all the options it says are coming this could be a one stop shop. Look forward to it showing mentions. This is one thing that really bothers me about steemit, a Mention should show up in replies or something so I know it happened.
Hey @thedarkhorse, I do the same with all kinds of tabs open...it's the only way I can actually remember what I'm doing half of the time!
I've been using steemworld for a long time now and "mentions" is supposed to be coming soon. But in the meantime, you should get @ginabot; you get email type notifications on Discord whenever your name is mentioned anywhere, and you can put someone else's name in the settings as well; for example, if you wanted to know every time I posted something haha. It's brilliant and one of my necessities here!
That has been suggested a few times to me, but I rarely if ever go on discord so that really means 2 new things to add. Might be something I need to look into as the lack of notification from steemit for mentions really bothers me. Seems like it should be part of the platform.
It does seem like that for sure! For a while, and even before I joined any groups, I just kept Discord open as yet another tab, and would just pay attention to gina on there. She also lists, at the same time, all of your incoming and outgoing activities. When I'm in a rush, I often scroll quickly through all of it to see what I've got in store for me later. It really is worth it, that is, until @steemchiller gets his "mentions" option up and running on steemworld. In his last newsletter, he said it would be soon fyi
Haha, that's funny you caught that. Certain members of the Steemitbloggers like to vote my posts after payout. Uhem @amarbir. Lol.
Well there's nothing for you voted 30 days after post creation, so maybe they are only a day or 3 late?! :D
Yea it was only a few days, and I called him out on it too. Lol. I was like thanks man I appreciate the comment, but try to make it a little quicker.
Hello friend! I support you. I want to know if there's anything for me.
Thank you @melvadg :D
I hope this information is useful for you :)
thanks You are a sun
For sure, sign me up again please!
I know I could probably renew my SteemSQL subscription write this query myself, but hey - I'm interacting here! :)
You could but I prefer it this way :)
And by the time you've paid, the data has arrived!
Nice one and thanks. It's interesting that the top of my list here was not even in my top 10 of most comments yesterday. It was an unpopular post at the time but was later proved a valuable warning so maybe that's why the late votes came in.
Sure Asher, I would like to see if I have any... I think the only one will be the newbieresteemday launch, but it would be cool to see if I have others!
ps... We had a late entry that missed the deadline.. but I wanted to give you a headsup so that you knew he took the time to do a logo for you... It is from @ossyjay and here is his logo for your league!
Oh flipping heck, it's brill!
I might have to use a couple of these and just pepper the post with them on Sunday! :D
You might have to fish another newbie nickel out!
You guessed it :)
I agree... I have the newbie nickels ready ... ;)
and thanks for the check... I had a hunch nothing else was linked anywhere.. But its nice to know the old post has 12 hits!
What an awesome logo!! Too bad it was a late entry ;( but nice job anyway @ossyjay...it's fantastic :)
I agree.. and you forgot to leave a space between anyway and @ossyjay... but I fixed it for you by tagging him anyways ;)
I was reading an old Steemit post saying that articles are no follow until they reach a certain amount.
If this is true, only higher paying posts even have a shot at ranking on Google. I looked you up on Google using the standard site:steemit.com/@abh12345. You do have a few posts ranked by Google.
That catch on the tool is a helpful way to asses reader interest. Post payouts is another obvious area to look at. :)
hmm interesting, I will look into that, cheers!
I'll see if I can find that article again. Oh here's one by @cryptoctopus. https://steemit.com/seo/@cryptoctopus/steemit-seo-today-i-learned-dofollow-links-are-not-about-reputation-at-all
Whao, to think people dig down into your blog and find post of 6 months old is so weird. Just as you said maybe they use search engines. I never knew up voting a post thats past 7 days affects steem power. Thanks
I never knew up voting a post that's past 7 days affects steem power.
Yes it is true, I tested this prior to posting just to make sure :D
I am definitely interested in this one. I have had somebody sign up on Steemit just to leave a comment on one of my posts. And I see people upvoting old posts of mine regularly. I wonder how that's distributed over different posts, or if it's just a few posts driving that. I know I have one post that keeps accumulating views, months and months later. This is an interesting idea for a query! Thank you in advance!
I love your statistical stuff. You have already given me a lot of interesting information. Could you give me these statistics?
Apologies for the delay, here you are :)
Hi @abh12345, I wrote a reply post to @davemccoy a month or so ago, maybe to you too, mentioning an idea that steemit is and has created a wonderful library over time, and as the members numbers expand exponentially, it would be a great venture to create an app & bot, that could more easily search just the steemit archive, and I'd the vote in present 7days is 1penny, then possibly there is sbd to make of old posts a vote worth •0001penny and by division from singular non-info to info and other divisions, from, •0001 to •001 to •01 penny of present vote. If that makes sense to you. Often I know what I'm trying to say, but transference can be difficult in type. Anyway, just a thought, to remind the whales and Mon Ed yes, that they have an incredible resource going to waste, faster and faster down the well called archive, and even non-steemit might wish to access, which is another means of raising $ because they might then pay a •001 penny fee to search one tag, and increased fee by number of tags. This library fees then to be better dispersed to newbies who get in the info division and thereby interest the searchers. Umm. Yeah. 😇
I understand, I think.
The thing is, the library isn't disappearing, there's just not a great visual way to reference it, yet.
As you can see with this Post series, someone with access to the data can easily search a tag, an author, his comments, his votes, but its not quiet that easy from a Web interface.
The way gifting/payment seems to work on late posts is either
Does this make sense?
I think I get what you are saying, but what I would very much like to see is a much easier method of finding old posts, as many by tag are still a great deal of scrolling away. My idea of bit-coining the votes on older posts is a means of raising funds with the library to pay for the library research-bot, and as the library may be 'sold' to non-member researchers for bit-coin equivalent of those micro votes a further fund is raised for newbie incentive, and an expensive sentient-chip-bot. Search by phrase or word(non tag) would separate much of the photos into with or without say 100 characters text. And separate intro stories from info stories. 😇
Also.. I couldn't help but notice you used our tag on this.. Was that intentional? I don't mind at all, I actually think it perfectly fits what you're doing since you're finding information.. I just thought it was curious and interesting! That's all. :)
Hey :)
Yes, I like the sound of 'evergreen' content - not just the 'newspaper' style which is old the next day.
I left the tag in because I thought hey, i'm information gathering here! But I know that some communities are quiet protective over tags and so will happily remove it if you wish.
Thanks for dropping by! :)
Word! I agree in regards to the evergreen thing. Me too. :) And cool! No worries, I'm happy to have other people use the tag. :) I think what you're doing is a good fit too! However, we only have around 50 people on our discord, so you probably wont get that many extra views using that tag, but if you're not concerned about the views and just want an accurate tag that fits what you're doing, then I would be happy if you keep using it. :) Maybe it'll somehow help our tag grow! So yeah I have no problem with it at all. Thanks for using the tag! :D
Also you're welcome for dropping by, thanks for appreciating me stopping by! ._.
