The constant demand from the world and those around us, our own endless desires, and the chatter in our minds makes it so easy to forget how good and comfortable most of our lives really are... Imagine what a good king 3000 or even 500 years ago would have done for running water, heat, or air conditioning, let alone what a bad one would do. Imagine a broken "slave" dreaming of a 40, or even 60 hour work week, at a job determined at least somewhat by her own choice. Imagine the past warriors fighting in the name of true righteousness, who allowed for our happiness. Feel the lives of those we can barely imagine, even today...

So let's try something a little different with this charity #steemgig, and acknowledge and share in some of life's simpler pleasures with which we have been granted!

Flowers 'n Water!

Proposing a happiness/gift #steemgig: to give 5 SBD each, to the first 10 Steemians who do the following: (Bonus if kids help give.)

Go for a walk through a part of your town (or another) that you do not live in, and give to at least 12 random people, 1 or 2, of 24 NEW/UNOPENED bottles of water. OR, give 1 medium to large flower each, to 12 people who look like they could use one. Help make their day and share a smile and a moment of your time with them! Said differently, give 24 bottles of water, or 12 flowers to at least 12 people that you do not know.

Requirements:

1. Create at least 6 little tags or labels according to your design (should include your @ username and Steemit.com,) and somehow attach them to a few of the bottles or flower stems.
2. Take a photo or two of your gifts, that clearly show the attached tags.
3. Do something to make us realize you went around giving. With your recipient's permission you could take selfies while sharing the flowers or water and smiles. Or you could show us 7 or 8 pics of you handing different people water, even without showing faces. (If you sense a person in great suffering, please give to them, but save them embarrassment and do not take, or ask for their photo.) Please take enough pictures that we can really sense you went for a walk and made these gifts to different people.
4. With your photos, make a post on your own blog, telling us something about your experience. Please tag your post with #steemgig (s), and however else you want too.
5. Drop a link and a picture if you'd like, to your post in the comments of this article.
6. Bonus 1 SBD each, and mitzvah/karma/brownie points if you get kids involved in the giving! For instance, knowing the purpose, they could craft the steemit.com labels, and do part of the buying, or the giving itself. Show us how they participated! Do they have something to say about sharing life's simple pleasures?!
