Hey Steemians!

STEEMFEST2 is fast approaching!

Have you made your plans? bought your tickets? raised your funds? wrote your speech? prepared your networking pitch? I believe the upcoming Steemfest2 conference will be the ultimate platforms for Steemians to make meaningful connections as well as to meet each other in the flesh to "come to full circle" for those whose meaningful connections are made on here.

So many of us are so excited to attend and i do believe as many people are struggling for the funds to make traveling there possible. Personally it costs me 2 months of my job salary just to get the plane ticket there!! but i know it's worth it.

There are many people on Steemit who have contributed so much (whether be it in development, community, contributing rare talent or even just being kind to one another) but just don't have the financial means to make attending SF2 possible.

On the flip side, I've seen so many Steemians that are better off (or even not) offering opportunities. This kind of collective "charity work" can't be found anywhere else! I wonder why some people still ask me if Steemit is a good enough place to be a part of!

Dear @blueorgy, I must thank you for your altruism and generosity for offering this giveaway. Even if it's just 1 ticket, it already translate to 1 person's live being changed forever and enabling him/her to contribute more to Steemit with his/her newfound connections, motivation, and just the fire he/she gets over the 5 days.

This post however, is not to nominate myself, I believe i found the perfect person for you to sponsor. Even in a strictly investment sense, sponsoring him would most likely give an ROI to Steemit of at least 10X, 100X, maybe even immeasurably. I'd like to nominate @bitrocker2020 to be the winner of the ticket.

@bitrocker2020 (or Simon), together and myself, with the support of the @curie project, started the TeamMalaysia initiative to bring Steemit to the Malaysian Content creators. There is an immense untapped potential of content creators just waiting to be called upon to unleash their talents

He began work immediately, traveling all across the country to host events, talks, meetups to spread the goodness of Steem. One would think he is "employed" by Steemit looking at his enthusiasm and dedication in running one event after another. So far, he's done a talk to His acquaintances, one which i had the privilege to attend , a Keynote in a Tech event, another meetup, another Talk introducing Steemit in a tech event, And even a talk in a Cultural Chambers of Commerce and Industry and also to rare talent local artists in the state of Sabah in Malaysia. You can read his details of the things he's done in his last tour here.

On his tour to Sabah, his activities even got picked up by the local state Newspapers. You can read them below, so far i've only know another dedicated Steemian who made it to the news. Certainly that counts for something! It's not everyday that Steemit gets a space in the tabloid.

A Creative, Passionate, Driven Steemian

@blueorgy, you mentioned that part of your selection criteria as;

I am looking for unique individuals and therefore I am making this contest very open ended. I will be looking for creative, passionate, driven users who will be a great addition to the event for everyone around them! So I will be accepting entries in any form, but be creative and unique!

While my post may be neither creative nor unique, I can vouch for @bitrocker2020 that he is certainly an artistic, fervent, and unrelenting Steemian who given so much on here. And did i mention he only joined us since May 2017? Just imagine the things he will do for us by May 2018!!! I'm personally very excited to have him as part of the builders and purveyor of the greatness of Steem to the world. Especially in this country with its massive untapped "market" of creative people, smart people, and good poeple most of all.

Final word

We are both planning to go to Steemfest2, not only because we can get to meet like-minded people and network (while having fun at that!), going to SF2 presents us with opportunities in coordinating new efforts to make this platform a better place. The main challenge we are facing, us being people living in Asia, is that the currency exchange from whatever we use to Euro is unfair. While 100 Euro don't sound like much to Europeans and Americans (relatively), it is a fortune for us. Which is why we absolutely believe in the liberating opportunity made possible with Steemit and the Steem Blockchain. Cryptocurrency is a catalyst for Globalization, and people like us from the developing country will be the first to enjoy the benefits of a free and open world previously denied from us.

It wont hurt too to have more than 1 Malaysian representative in Steemit (though there is no need to name that certain someone we all know and love). I hope you can consider @bitrocker2020 for your sponsorship to Steemfest2, It wont be a wrong decision.

Thanks for reading my post up to this point. This nomination is because i really acknowledge his dedication and efforts. And he did chatted with me privately that, although he had his flight itinerary planned and ready, it would be nice if he receive help in terms of the minimun 222 Euro for the tickets.
