STEEM's one million accounts, STINC and @ned is in aggressive mode in marketing, some good progress in addressing chaotic governance by using Good Person Token.

STEEM blockchain have just hit one million accounts. People say the first million is the hardest to achieve. Let us see how many months not years it take to reach another million accounts.

It took more than two years and couple of months to reach 1 million milestone. According to @steemitblog new STEEM account applications are growing significantly.

Though ethereum (ETH) has 33 million wallets, users of ETH may open hundreds and even thousands of wallets for transactions. On the other hand, STEEM users mostly use one account to do most of their transactions. STEEM blockchain still has highest number of transactions (e.g. more than a million) per day and still has less than 1% of its capacity used. While ETH's network often congested due to sudden rise in transactions such as cryptokitties.

@steemitblog also claimed that the most popular Crytpokitties Dapp on has 2,777 transactions while eSteem (a mobile application for Steem) has averaged 9,372 transactions per day over the last 7 days let alone transactions from dtube, dlive, busy and Steemit DApps. Source

On the other hand, CEO of STINC @ned seems to be very active these days. This is a very good news for STEEM blockchains. He is very frequent in a telegram channel and invited others to join him. He seems to active in commenting and answering some questions.

Recently, he has presented in CONSENSUS, the biggest blockchain conference and attended couple of talk shows. Before that he has visited Japan and Korea to present in conferences and gave interviews in local media. He was also interviewed the Bloomberg, the major business news media. Source

Finally, announcement of Good Person Token (GPT) in parallel with STEEM. The GPT will be assigned to a single, verified person. Therefore, it is possible to apply account based voting on contents with super linear curving rather than stake based voting. That means, contents can be discovered by the number of votes by the unique persons. In that case, people with big following in other social media can migrate their followers in STEEM blockchain and earn big bucks. This can bring big popularity to STEEM blockchain and so as price appreciation. This can also, solve partially content discovery and governance on STEEM DApps.

STEEM needs higher growth of its users to sustain high price. With one million accounts in hand and considering global demand for blockchain based social media, 100 million users would be STEEM's goal for next couple of years. 10M users in a year or two is not a far-fetched expectation.

Currently, due to very slow onboarding and relatively low demand (i.e. less marketing), STEEM price is taking hit as shown by the marketcap (i.e. 31 ranking). Don't get fooled by the marketcap, if STEEM sells pressure were lower it would have much higher marketcap due to its innovations and activities.

Interestingly, fast signups, hivemind, SMT, more publicity, more exchange adoption (e.g. OKex, Bitfinex, Bithumb) will increase demand for STEEM. Then it's price will rise at much more faster rate than other altcoins for sure. There are lots of good days are ahead for STEEM blockchain.
