My SoulDoodles from the closet #22 - SoulDoodle with light brush strokes - My thoughts about handwriting and education
This is a bright watercolor with some calligraphic text. Calligraphy is an old art genre, that nowadays practised by very few people.
The handwriting of people has been deteriorated a lot since the computer was being used. In some countries, children are no longer taught cursive letters, just printed capitals. Alarming vision that the next generation will be illiterate!!! They will only be able to type, even with a lot of mistakes and more primitive ways. Today's education is also catastrophic in Hungary. The development of handicrafts, art, music and physical education are progressively ruined and wasted away by stupid rules and bureaucracy. Our teachers leave schools and go to work in companies where they are better paid.
What the current formal education does not give us, let's do it for the future generation and ourselves, by helping and teaching each other.
Practising handwriting and Calligraphy is very useful for adult people as well, bringing the two hemispheres in line and calming our soul. It's time to take a pen or brush, and practise, practise, practise...and the result will not be missed! Next time i'll create some Calligraphy tutorials!

This is true, I am a teacher and students write less. I know this is the modern time but I think we should maintain creativity. We memorize the fonts but we dont have our own distinctive hand writting as our trademark. Thank you for this post. I will make a caligraphy art soon I hope you will check it out. Following you now.

it is true what you say friends with the sophistication of human modernization tools so lazy to create their own art we no longer want to try to learn according to our own talents we always expect on a sophisticated machine machine if if one day the machine is not functioning we may be blind in life

Lovely SoulDoodles Kalemandra. I didn't realize that practicing handwriting and calligraphy brings the two hemispheres of our brain into balance.
I was taught cursive letters in primary school, but when writing I generally use all caps as I like that almost Japanese like style. But will go back to script now and see how it makes me feel. 🦋
I wish i would find one of my excersize books when i was little. We had to write with ink, not ballpoint pen - that was forbidden. That's why our handwriting was more clear, easy-to-read and beautiful, than today's children handwriting.
Simple writing or typing is left-hemisphere-working, but calligraphy is an art that makes the right hemisphere work.
Makes sense to me Kalemandra. I did a watercolour workshop for calligraphers once, so that they could then create washes of watercolour as a background. Some nice work came out of it. Looking forward to your Caligraphy Tutorials, as I'd like to try my hand at it now. 🦋
