7-Day Black and White Photo Challenge - Day 1

What's a man to do when he's nominated by the wonderful @dreemit to a 7-day Black and White Challenge? I don't think there's anything else one can do but say "I accept," so I did. Gladly, I might add! :D

So, without further ado, here is my entry for today:

day1

Usually, this is the part where I write a long explanation or I write a (relatively) short story to complement the photo, but this time I won't ;) As to why, I won't even bother to explain... or maybe I will haha!

Here are the rules:

  • 7 black & white images that represent an aspect of your life (makes sense)
  • Present one image every day for seven days (as expected)
  • No people (I can live with that)
  • No explanation (whew!)
  • Nominate someone every day. Although anyone can join in, be sure to use the tag: #sevendaybnwchallenge as one of your five (do I have to?)

If you want to join in on the fun, let me know in the comments section! As for my nomination for today, drumroll please...

Wow, you must have put this up right after you saw the post! You are speedy gon...hahahaha!! Only you and I need to know why what I almost wrote is so enormously funny!!

I can hardly compete with me boom's interpretation, but I'm going for my own anyway--
the >100 represents the amount of tissue that was on the roll but now is not, the 'hehe' is the prankster who took the tissue laughing at the one he pranked, and +1 is score one for that prankster, so maybe it's a prank war?

As it's Thanksgiving and I have family from now through the weekend, I will be sneaking on here as much as possible but I can't yet get to the comments you left me, especially after taking all of my sneaky time up on this comment!
Have to quickly check out me boom's post, then leave the bathroom (everyone is right now assuming that I'm taking a giant poop)

¡Ándale arriba! Hahahaha! People have called me The Flash, though for both positive and negative reasons.

No need to compete, sis! Every comment is a snowflake, and I view all my STEEM fam in the same light :D You know what, I think some of your points are even closer to the mark than Boomdawg's! As to what those are, I fear I'm not allowed to explain haha! Know that apart from The Flash, I have also been heralded as a descendant of Loki. A low key Loki, if you will. Whether this is the starting gong for a prank war, we would never know. That is, until we're already knee deep in it!

I've already replied earlier about your STEEM ninja ways haha! It would be interesting to see what other excuses you dream of. You can only go number two so many times after all! Happy thanksgiving once again! I'm thankful that you took the time to leave a thoughtful comment on my little corner :D

Hahaha!! A speedy gon... I laughed ;O)

A fine interpretation! I had never thought of the number of sheets of loo roll!

I do the same when I have guests btw. Sneak off for a "poo" but its actually steemit lol!

Boom!!

Fast work! As you are not technically allowed to explain it please let me -

There are many facets to this photo. The main overriding one being despair. The scene obviously a toilet. The emotion, presented so well in stark black and white one of horror at the fact the toilet paper has run out. The pyramidal stack of empty rolls compounds the angst of the viewer by presenting them with a conflict: are we on top of the pyramid with the few or are we with the many below.

There are more gifts here than just existential despair. See how the author has playfully inserted clues to guide the viewer. The top roll has >100 in it, a reference to the author's own propensity for giving more than 100%

The author is gifted with a wry sense of humour and plays with the viewer, the roll on the bottom left presents a hehe in diminishing perspective.

But that is one ray of light in a bleak composition to lend much needed contrast. The despair is then further compounded by the final bottom left roll T1... A cryptic message I suspect alluding to a trauma event in early childhood. Note how the T is displayed in a cross style, redolent of the graveyard.

I look forward to more pieces from this promising young artist.

I took my own crack at this ;)

And what a splendid comment! I feel like my comments section is incomplete with my STEEM Fam in it!

You have an excellent eye, my brother from a different birthhole. I am many things, but what I certainly am not is disappointed. In fact, I am the opposite of it. I am appointed.

I am in tears, brought upon the laughter you had provided. Mind you, this was a laughter not directed at you, but this is a laughter of agreement. Your points have left all of the bulls in my stable blind. You, sir, have hit all of their eyes it seems. And I laugh because I agree with your decision.

I am in awe. I seem to have taken a wrong turn but I don't mind being stuck here for a while. Your observation is so accurate, it's like you plucked it out of my squishy jelly thing that used to be behind my eyes. I wasn't sure if anyone would be able to surmise that it was a pyramid of tissue paper rolls, but I guess you're not just any one.

I promise you that the young artist who made this would be immensely appreciative of your surgical dissection of his work. And, as much as I want to add to this, particularly explaining why I was quick on the draw, you've already covered everything, Boomshakalaka. You truly are a gentleman and a legend!

Hehe, of what a splendid reply! I am bereft of words like those bulls are bereft of eyes!! :0)

This reply wouldn't be possible without your comment, Boomskie! In the realm of Biology, I think this is what's called Commentsalism, where one comment is boosted by the other. Yes, I science sometimes.

Hehe, commentsalism!

All hail science!

I'm going to have the most boring photos ever in the history of all boring photos XD

goatsig

Wanna bet? I have a few boring ones in store, so it seems you have competition hahaha! But, I don't think B&W photos are meant to be super exciting. Really though, I nominated you because I know you have a good eye, you're super creative, and I want to motivate you to just keep posting :D

Ahh why do you have to be so sweet, is it so you can get away with stuff like this? XD

Also...so I read the rules and...went and did my own thing because I'm a brat like that XD

As per the rules, I recuse myself from any explanation hahaha! But, I will say this, I need to go take a bath on account of all these ants haha!

Congratulations for the nomination! What's that letters hiding in the dark?

Don't look now, but I think you want to sneak a peek of this https://steemit.com/sevendaybnwchallenge/@jedau/7-day-black-and-white-photo-challenge-day-2 :D

That actually spells "Hehe" as to why, I'm obligated to not explain haha!

I kinda like it, thanks. Emm, I guess this is a nomination? Do I start right away or after your photo challenge finishes?
