Climate change can be characterized as a change brought about by the physical activities of man which directly influences things like the atmospheric condition, the fertile land for cropping and also brings directly things like pollution of air, land and water. Humans have however not put into consideration that the principles of give and take will also Influence the earth and most times we often endanger our lives by affecting the atmosphere with really dangerous activities that can cause hunger, famine, greenhouse gases, aerosols and even death. In Nigeria for example in the south south, is where activities that affects the climate takes place the most and why is this? There is the presence of oil in the earth and the act of extracting this oil often leaves the land barren for planting, it makes the river too toxic for the fishes to live in because during the process of extracting this oil, care is not taken to reduce the aftermath of what this oil spillage will do to the environment and also how it will affect the lives of people.

Health issues such as typhoid and malaria in Nigeria is directly as a result of climate change and how come? For example typhoid is brought about by open defecation in river, now open defecation is a human activity that changes the purity of the air we breathe in and when flies carries this faeces around it result in typhoid a very deadly diesease that kills when there's no antibiotics in place. Climate change is arguably the biggest issues especially in countries that are underdeveloped and while I will not call Nigeria an underdeveloped country, I'll says it's a country that's hardly invested resources in the tackling of things such as deforestation, oil spillage, producing undisposable plastic bottles which has been the reason for spreading water borne diseases and also rise in flooding especially in the northern Nigeria

Now I see climate change as the effect of carelessness and mismanagement of the resources made available naturally to man , while pollution is more rampant in southern Nigeria, drought and famine is much more popular in northern Nigeria and in the urban setting of Lagos where I live in, chemical pollution such leads to diseases and when there's rainfall there's is a spread of rather strange toxic materials as a result of many industries disposing their waste through water rather than burning it or finding a better way that wouldn't change the climatic condition into something dangerous to settlers of people living in such an area. Nigeria is one of the hottest countries in the western African region and some of her activities like bush burning and falling of trees for uses without finding a solution to replanting and replenishing the natural habitat might even bring a rise in the how hot there might be an increase in the weather, this is evident in some places in the northern where the humidity is so high it because too dangerous for human around that region to breathe.

In my opinion I feel government in Nigeria are trying to best the effect of climate change, but they can't because the some of these activities are carried out by them, for example the oil extractions in the southern South part of Nigeria. The people in that region has been pleading to the government for more than 60 years now to look for a way to manage the effect of the mining activities, but because the oil is a huge resources the government has hardly done nothing to assist the region in the South South, so I feel this is a political agenda and sometimes because of greed and money the effect of climate change is often ignored The direct effect of climate change in Nigeria will be loss of land, exposure to hot weather, migration and poverty and I do not believe that climate change is going to be something we will always face the danger because human actions to the natural existence is inevitable this is a mere excuse from shying away from climate change as a big issue that needs a lot of attention.

In earnest, the best remedy for tackling climate change not just in Nigeria but all around the world is awareness to its danger and of course human management of the earth's resources I believe that individually people Often are responsible for climate change globally, for example a person might not know that the constant dumping of bottles, polythene bags and other inorganic materials into a place like a river can make the current rise and cause flooding, destruction of farmland and washing away of the top soil when there's is rainfall this is because there's no awareness or education to bring this awareness, I do believe human management will come as a result of awareness to the danger of climate change we however cannot stop some human activities because they're sometimes responsible for the means of existence but when time is taken to sort the possible effect from mismanagement then climate change can be put in check.
