I am going to try to get caught up this week by doing a 3 in one post! So here, too is my entry for the #beautifulsunday challenge, hosted by @ace108 and for #sublimesunday by @c0ff33a.
The Thanksgiving holiday is one that I enjoy so much! Being surrounded by family and friends and enjoying a great meal together is beautiful and sublime, too!
These little dolls were old when they were given to me as a child over 50 years ago. They get brought out of the cabinet once a year at Thanksgiving time to become one of my few holiday decorations that I put out. The 'chair' beside them is the muselet from the top of the sparkling wine that we had with dinner. My son twisted it into a chair!

Most of our meal was pretty traditional. Turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing , green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, cranberries . My daughter made the pumpkin pies and brought a jar of Lingonberries to celebrate her top marks in her Swedish language class this semester.
My daughter-in-law brought apple and pecan strudel and made this delicious salad
And my Norwegian friend brought lefse and krumkake. 
Waiting for food, 3 teenage boys can eat a lot!
After dinner we watched Buster Scruggs on Netflix. The Coen Brothers kept us all entertained. Several of my guests spent the night and we had turkey day leftovers for breakfast before they left to begin their drives home.
oh, and Bay spent the night, too!

Someone can do a tutorial on making chair for you.
Hahaha! The best part was that my son bought that particular kind of wine because the name is very similar to his last name. His name has two L's and two T's but the seat of the chair has the cap from the bottle and it says the wines name on it so it was kind of cute that he preserved it by making it into a chair!
More wine please. :-)

I love them all so much! My best friend Stevie is mashing the potatoes. Her kids are the two on the left. She adopted them as infants and they call me Auntie Mel. The young man on the right is my daughter's son. He will get his driver's license in Feb. We didn't take nearly enough pictures.
see that you and your best friend love each other so much and that potato puree looks so delicious. But at least you took some great pictures. I'm glad you're so happy with your family. You deserve it💕
Thanks, luv! They have declared a snow emergency for our area tonight. O'Hare Airport in Chicago has already cancelled many many flights. They're saying we could get 6 to 9 inches of snow. I think I am prepared and have nowhere I have to go, so I am ready to get snowed in! All of my family are safely back in their homes, so I will just sit back and watch it snow.
I think it's a lot of snow. But it's good to know that everyone is fine. And that you are well at home ... You only have to see the snow fall.

I truly hope that you have the opportunity to make Christmas special this year, even if it is not the same as it was in years past. I am so sorry that you're living under such awful conditions.
It looks like you did have quite a bit of company. I've never heard of a pecan strudel, but it sounds delicious. Apfelstrudel is a favorite, though! That looks like some fancy lefse.
Did you have as much help with the dishes?
Both strudels came from a famous German bakery in Chicago called Dinkel's. The photo is the krumkake, the lefse looks more like a flour tortilla.
They wouldn't even let me in the kitchen! And then they put up my Christmas tree and all of my Christmas decorations for me before they went home. They are good kids 😊🎄

Chicago is a great place to eat! We went out for Pizza when I was there two weeks ago and it was delicious and memorable! And shockingly expensive! I always forget about big city prices.
