Zen Rock Stacking

This is Zen Meditation
It is something that I have always been able to do, since as long as I could remember. It is called Zen. Being focused in the moment of what is now, and thinking of nothing else but that moment. The smell of the air, the brush of the breeze, the rustling of tree leaves in the canopy above, all slowly disperse and become one. Breath in, Breath out.

I have never stacked rocks before. This is my first attempt. It was the most amazing experience. I spent about an hour squatting there. breathing, slowly, as humming birds buzz past my head, sometimes hovering in curiosity, but only for a moment. I have three feeders in my yard for the birds. I love to hear the chirps and sounds of the forest. I could smell the earthy ground soaking of the water I had spilled cleaning the birdbath. It was a mossy softness, layers upon layers, years of fallen leaves from the great oaks surrounding me, engulfing me. The earth was rich, and the life of spring is all around. Insects and bugs buzzing, singing their joyful song.

I began at the base, and worked slowly up. Each rock was chosen especially, they called out to me as I searched. I did not take any pitfall seriously, and if a rock fell, or the tower collapsed, I would just focus on my breath and continue inwards and onward . Thinking only of the moment. Only of now, determined to be present.
