Soda Review

Abita is a beverage manufacturer founded in 1986 about 30 miles north of New Orleans, Louisiana. In its first year, the brewery produced 1,500 barrels of beer. Now they are making more than 151,000 barrels of beer and 9,100 barrels of root beer per year. King Cake soda celebrates the sweetest treat of Carnival season, the 'King Cake'. It has flavors of frosting, candied sugar and cinnamon dough. It is made with pure Louisiana cane sugar and spring water.

The Bottle

The bottle of the Abita - King Cake Soda was a 12 fluid ounce, brown glass bottle. It had a purple pry-off cap and a colorful label. The soda is brewed seasonally as indicated on the bottle. A picture of the famous Mardi-Gras 'King Cake' is featured on the front.

The Soda

This was hands down one of the best (and most interesting) sodas I have ever tried. It tasted like I was drinking a delicious cinnamon cake all wrapped up in a bubbly beverage. Cinnamon is one of my favorite flavors, therefore I indulged and enjoyed every last sip of this amazing soda. I highly recommend seeking this soda out and giving it a try for yourself. It is truly something else.
