I'm looking for collaborators!

This is the second episode of Space Carrie's Adventures in Space! Did you miss episode one? No problem! Find it HERE. We will be needing more voice actors, some re-curring, some for single episodes. I'd also like to invite YOU to write a short script for us. They would need be able to be performed in UNDER 10 minutes, or broken up into 5 or 10-minute segments. Go have a listen to some Old Time Radio shows HERE, or just listen to the one below. It won't disappoint. 😎

It was, but when copy/pasted into Steemit, left aligns everything. But this time... it did something weird. I dunno what's gonna happen. It may look like script form... it may look nuts... No way of knowing until I hit that POST button. 😬 If you are seeing it a hot mess, know that I'll be editing (somehow) to left align... Otherwise, if it looks perfect... You're welcome! 😍

                                               NARRATOR

        As we return to the slums of Flegula 7,  where Space Carrie has just 
        Defeated the brutal space pirate Spacebeard, we see a ruggedly handsome man
        And his robotic companion running for their lives. They are being chased 
        By hoverbots, which are gaining on them with each passing moment.

SOUND EFFECT - BEGIN LASER FIRE

                                              CAPTAIN CORK

          Boy, we’re in a real pickle here. Can’t you roll a little faster, Henry?

                                                  HENRY

          Beep boop. I am currently traveling at my maximum velocity. Searching 
          Alternative evasion techniques.... Beep boop.

                                              CAPTAIN CORK

          Crap! If we get out of this alive, we’re going straight to the robot
          Scrapyard to get you some new wheels.

                                                  HENRY

          Beep boop. My memory banks show that you had the opportunity to
          Upgrade my wheels on multiple occasions. Maybe when you were 
          Joyriding around the Cloyvergent Nebula with the Princess of Zoobly
          You should have thought about Henry’s wheels. Beep boop.

                                               CAPTAIN CORK

          Give me a break! And remind me later to adjust your nagging function.
          I’ve got it! Deploy Voice-Balls!

                                               HENRY

          Beep boop. Excellent idea, Captain. Beep boop.

                                              NARRATOR

          From a small compartment on Henry the Robot’s back, there emerge
          Several flying orbs of light. These Voice-Balls begin speaking 
          Simultaneously, saying various things in the voice of the Captain.

SOUND EFFECT - BEGIN OVERLAPPING CORK VOICES

          The Chattering Voice-Balls begin to scatter about the street, confusing 
          the Auditory tracking systems of the  pursuing hoverbots, and buying the
          fugitives some precious time.

SOUND EFFECT - END OVERLAPPING CORK VOICES

                                             CAPTAIN CORK

          It’s working! This is our chance, Henry! Give it all you’ve got!

                                              HENRY

          Beep boop. I’m giving her all she’s got, Captain. Beep boop.


                                            CAPTAIN CORK

          I’ve escaped from tighter spots than this one. I’ll get off this filthy
          Planet one way or another, or my name isn’t Captain Cork!

SOUND EFFECT - CAPTAIN CORK TITLE

        I once evaded an entire army of Drago-Funtanians on nothing more
        Than a space scooter. I’m pretty sure I can outsmart a company of 
        Flegulan hoverbots shooting at me with lasers.

SOUND EFFECT - CAPTAIN CORK TITLE

        If I can just find a way back to the Steem Starship, we’ll be home
        Free! Remember, Henry, in that ship I made the Kessel run in less
        Than ten parsecs, making that cocky Han Solo eat his words.

SOUND EFFECT - CAPTAIN CORK TITLE

                                                HENRY

         Beep boop. The Hoverbots have blasted the Voice-Balls and are 
         pursuing us again. Duck! Beep boop.

                                             CAPTAIN CORK

         Geez, that one nearly vaporized me…

SOUND EFFECT - DUN-DUN-DUNNNNNNN

                                               NARRATOR

         Will Captain Cork come to a sad, vaporized ending on Flegula 7?
         The situation is bleak for the Captain and his robot companion, Henry.
         Will they ever make their way to the Steem Starship? Find out after this.

                                               ANNOUNCER

         From the Police hoverbots of Flegula 7, our hero, Space Carrie, wanders
         The streets, looking for a way off of the bleak dessert planet.

SOUND EFFECT - SPACE CARRIE!

         Spacebeard’s only remaining minstrel, Kevin, has decided to now follow
         Space Carrie, who is unsure whether or not she has room for musical 
         Accompaniment in her busy and adventurous life.

SOUND EFFECT - HAPPY TUNE

                                              SPACE CARRIE

         Alright, Kevin. I get that you’re happy to be free from Spacebeard, but what’s your game here?

                                                KEVIN

SOUND EFFECT - KEVIN’S SONG

                                              SPACE CARRIE

         Oh, my! That’s a terribly sad story, Kevin. I had no idea.

                                                KEVIN

SOUND EFFECT - SAD TROMBONE

                                              SPACE CARRIE

         And you were born without a tongue, so you can only converse    through music?

                                                  KEVIN

SOUND EFFECT - KEVIN’s HOPE

                                              SPACE CARRIE

        Wow, that’s deep, Kevin. I hope you find what you’re looking for. Until then, you can travel with me. First thing’s 
        first. We need to get off of this filthy planet before we run into trouble. Now, the spaceport is only a few blocks 
        away, but I don’t have access to a ship.

                                                 KEVIN

SOUND EFFECT- KEVIN recorder -1

                                             SPACE CARRIE

        (LAUGHING) That’s easier said than done, Kevin.

                                                KEVIN

SOUND EFFECT- KEVIN recorder -2

                                             SPACE CARRIE

        Are you crazy? We’d be sitting space ducks!

                                              NARRATOR

        Just then, Captain Cork and Henry emerge from an adjacent alley
        At breakneck speed, slamming into Space Carrie and Kevin…

SOUND EFFECT - CRASH

        Creating A motley dog pile of humans, robots and musical instruments. The four scramble
        to get to their feet as  laser fire in the distance grows steadily closer. 

SOUND EFFECT - LASER BATTLE slow fade in

        CAPTAIN CORK                           SPACE CARRIE                          HENRY

What the? Watch where you’re          Ow! What are you- Who in the-           Danger! Danger Danger!
going! We’ll never outrun them        Would you just- Let go of me!          Danger! Danger!Danger!
Now! Get up! Lookout!


                                                KEVIN

SOUND EFFECT - GONG

                                              SPACE CARRIE

          That’s true, Kevin. Quick! Get that robot back on its wheels! 

                                               HENRY

          Beep boop. “That robot” has a name, and that name is Henry. Beep boop.

                                             SPACE CARRIE

          Why are there so many police Hover bots chasing you?

                                            CAPTAIN CORK

         That’s a long story, but for now let’s just say: They can have
         My lasers when they pry them from my cold, dead hands.

[PAUSE]

                                           SPACE CARRIE

          You have lasers?

                                            CAPTAIN CORK

          Heck yes I do! I’m a laser salesman as a matter of fact. Captain
          Cork, for all your laser needs!

                                           SPACE CARRIE

          You’re a captain? So you have a ship?

                                           CAPTAIN CORK

          Sure do! Fastest ship in the galaxy! Did the Kessel run in-

                                           SPACE CARRIE

          Shut up! Why aren’t you using your lasers now?

                                          CAPTAIN CORK

           Why didn’t I think of that?

                                          NARRATOR

        As the laser-blasting hover bots draw closer, Captain Cork, in a 
        Flash produces two small hand lasers from concealed ankle holsters.
        He stands and faces the hoverbots. With a chilling battle cry, he 
        Begins to fire with both lasers.

SOUND EFFECT - CORK’S BATTLE CRY + LASERS
SOUND EFFECT - DUN-DUN-DUNNNNNNN

        Will Captain Cork vanquish the Hoverbots and escape with his life?
        Will Space Carrie join forces with the Captain?

        Concealed lasers, we’re all going to be okay.

SOUND EFFECT - HOORAY

                                            HENRY

        Beep boop. Of course, if he had simply turned his lasers in at 
        Customs like every guest is required to do, we never would have
        Been chased by those second-rate hoverbots in the first place. 
        Beep boop.

                                           CAPTAIN CORK

        Relax, Henry. The point is, my Steemstar laser saved the day once again.
        More hoverbots will be coming quick. We should move, but first, 
        Introductions are in order. How about the mysterious young lady here
        Goes first.

                                           SPACE CARRIE

        I’m Space Carrie…

SOUND EFFECT - SPACE CARRIE!

        ...and I have a proposition for you.

                                          CAPTAIN CORK

        I’m on my way out of this dump, and I’m not looking for work.

                                         SPACE CARRIE

        I think you’ll want to hear me out.

                                          NARRATOR

        Space Carrie proceeds to tell the tale of her heroic victory
        Over Spacebeard and of the enormous bounty currently owed
        To her by interplanetary Justice. Captain Cork agrees to take 
        Space Carrie in his spaceship to retrieve the bounty, in exchange 
       for a share for himself.

                                         CAPTAIN CORK

        We’ll get you to that bounty, or my name isn’t James T. Cork.

                                        SPACE CARRIE

        What does the T. stand for?

                                         CAPTAIN CORK

        Tee.

                                         SPACE CARRIE

        Right. What does it stand for?

                                         CAPTAIN CORK

        No. T. E. E. Tee.

                                        SPACE CARRIE

        Oh. That’s weird.

                                        HENRY

        Beep boop. Here we go again. Beep boop.

                                        SPACE CARRIE

        Can I call you Jim?

                                      CAPTAIN CORK

        No. James is already my nickname.

                                       SPACE CARRIE

        What is James short for?

                                       CAPTAIN CORK

        Jimothy.

                                       SPACE CARRIE

        [PAUSE] So your name is Jimothy Tee Cork?

                                       CAPTAIN CORK

        Captain Jimothy Tee Cork, at your service.

                                         NARRATOR

        The party begins to feel a strange teleporty sensation, as
        They witness their bodies begin to dematerialize. They’re being 
        Transported, but where?

SOUND EFFECT - BEGIN TRANSPORTER

                                    SPACE CARRIE

        What are you doing, Jimothy?

                                     CAPTAIN CORK

        I thought you were doing something. Somebody’s transporting us!

                                     HENRY

        Beep boop. I hate teleporting! Beep boop.

SOUND EFFECT - KEVIN recorder 3

                                 SPACE CARRIE

        You’re right, Kevin! Hold on, everyone! We have to be ready for
        Anything on the other side!

SOUND EFFECT - TRANSPORTER CRESCENDO
