Poker Today is a community-centric content series that highlights news, upcoming events, and personalities within the Steem Poker community.

The Steem Poker League has reached a point of no return. With all the work of @tuck-fheman, @bigpchef and @chiefmappster there is no looking back as the @SPL it going to the moon. Thousands of SBD have been given away in only a few weeks. Our community of poker players is reaching for the stars within the SteemIt platform while at the same time praying to the poker gods on the poker tables. The way these two are in sync is amazing and we are going places. That is what Poker Today is all about. Me, @nicnas, and @chiefmappster aim to bring forth a digital like paper of which all the current @SPL and Steem Poker headlines can be found in one place. Keep an eye on our account to find the latest news as well as by checking the aforementioned accounts as well. There is a lot more coming as we approach the mid point of the SPL season.
This is the fourth iteration of Poker Today for the SteemIt Poker League. In this issue, we will offer a comprehensive lineup of events, game schedules, and some recent news. Please read and support the other participants of the @SPL as well.

Also, there are certain qualifications to join each of these league so keep that in mind. One big thing about all of these leagues though is that you should make it very clear as to which SteemIt account you are linked to. It is important to keep people from having multiple accounts. This is ultimately cheating at its core.

Keep in mind that I am using the dates and time that are available as of today. These are subject to change. I will try to keep them updated on future posts when I get updates. But the best way the most current of information is to follow @tuck-fheman, @chiefmappster and @spl.
Generic Leagues Rules:
There are few specific rules to be eligible to get paid out in SBD from winnings. First your steemit account must be over level 30 reputation on Steemit. You must have made an introduction post. And you use your @steemit-username in your profile on all sites.
The SteemIt Poker League (SPL) is a ten tournament league that started on Wednesday, June 21st. Though it is not too late to join. @tuck-fheman started this league on BluffAve.com but we are using the new site, as mentioned below, from now on. This is a freeroll league, just like all of other league games mentioned here. All you need to do is follow the rules and make sure to register for the tournament and show up. Follow @tuck-fheman and @spl for all up to date news.
Thursday's 
In this week's Thursday Poker Tourney, there is 30 SBD guaranteed. It starts at 5PM CDT / 9PM UTC. Though the times are likely to change every week to accommodate different locations. The weekly games prize pool will be determined before tourney time depending on post payouts so make sure to upvote and support @chiefmappster. We will be using LuckSacks.com to play these from now on. To find out more and stay up to date please follow and keep an eye out for new posts by @chiefmappster .
Invite only this league if for people who play regularly (daily) and for the pro poker players of SteemIt. There are a limited amount of spots in this league. Come join us in Discord to find out more.
Each player that applies will be screened carefully before being admitted. We are looking for people who are passionate about poker, play daily and just have a love for the game. If that's you, then we'll know it by your blog here on Steemit and you'll be allowed in. :)

Being an avid poker advocate and playing when I'm on travel in states that legally allow it I'm not sure how I missed your other articles on this subject. I think it's wonderful, I'll be evaluating the leagues and looking for one to join. BTW I did win the last tourny that I did play in granted it was full of industry professionals. I'll see you on the felt.
