It is a very exciting time in the history of SteemIt. The developments and communities being built alongside the platform is reaching a new level. This is most definitely an amazing thing for the growth and future of SteemIt. But not only that but in general the SPL poker league is becoming one of the best compliments of SteemIt yet. It is an exciting thing to play poker against fellow steemians and have real fun interactions with the people you are playing with. Okay, okay it is fun to play on a real table with rich drunk guys giving away their money too. Not only that but the waitress' are usually beautiful as well. But we got our own shit going for us. Free money and fun. Almost doesn't get better. We are at 1700 SBD and counting paid out. Why have't you joined yet?
This is the second iteration of Poker Today for the SteemIt Poker League. The first issue can be found Here by @chiefmappster. In this second issue, I plan to offer a comprehensive lineup of events and some recent news. Please read and support the other participants of the @SPL.

- As mentioned in the above post we really need some help to assist Tuck in his efforts to get everyone paid out. It is becoming, or has already become, inefficient to do so manually. I have figured out how to Post, Follow (unfollow), Upvote, and comment using the API's but am stuck as far as transactions are concerned. If anyone wants to help or has any experience with the Steemjs-lib or with making transactions on the chain please contact us in the discord channel.
Also, there are certain qualifications to join each of these league so keep that in mind. One big thing about all of these leagues though is that you should make it very clear as to which SteemIt account you are linked to. It is important to keep people from having multiple accounts. This is ultimately cheating at its core.

Generic Leagues Rules:
There are few specific rules to be eligible to get paid out in SBD from winnings. First your steemit account must be over level 30 reputation on Steemit. You must have made an introduction post. And you use your @steemit-username in your profile on all sites.
The SteemIt Poker League (SPL) is a ten tournament league that started on Wednesday, June 21st. Though it is not too late to join. @tuck-fheman started this league on BluffAve.com but we are using the new site, as mentioned below, from now on. This is a freeroll league, just like all of other league games mentioned here. All you need to do is follow the rules and make sure to register for the tournament and show up. Follow @tuck-fheman and @spl for all up to date news.
Thursday's 
In this week's Thursday Poker Tourney, there is 30 SBD guaranteed. It starts at 5PM CDT / 9PM UTC. Though the times are likely to change every week to accommodate different locations. The weekly games prize pool will be determined before tourney time depending on post payouts so make sure to upvote and support @chiefmappster. We will be using LuckSacks.com to play these from now on. To find out more and stay up to date please follow and keep an eye out for new posts by @chiefmappster .
Invite only this league if for people who play regularly (daily) and for the pro poker players of SteemIt. There are a limited amount of spots in this league. Come join us in Discord to find out more.
Each player that applies will be screened carefully before being admitted. We are looking for people who are passionate about poker, play daily and just have a love for the game. If that's you, then we'll know it by your blog here on Steemit and you'll be allowed in. :)

- Go to the Private Sites tab.
- Select Steem Poker League.
- Enter password : Please visit @spl to get password. Here is the post.
- Sign up
- Enter you Steemit @user-name where prompted to ensure proper payment.
- Select Lobby and choose a game.

What service have you used to create the newspaper cover image?
I used Gimp, its similar to Photoshop.
I thought it's some easy 1-2-3 steps software. It's impressive that you've invested time in manually creating something like that (y).
