Here's what my entry might look like:

RUNAWAY RHYMES 2: SEAHORSE

This poem was written when I was about 10.

Rocking along to the melody of the tide,
Full of courage and no need to hide
Swimming, belonging at the bottom of the sea
Without a care in the world and free.

The male carries the imminent brood
Leaving the female agile to find food.
Allowing the other beasts of the ocean
To gaze upon mystic beauty in motion.

It would ideal to be in the water all day
To swim to my hearts content and play.
So I wish I was a seahorse.
A female one, of course.

Good luck and I look forward to enjoying the talents of the Steem poets.

Tranquil as the sea, that is what she longs to be. As the night waves drift in and out of the shore, her memories they adore. Without the salt of the waves bite, she tries with all her might. Tonight the waves ripple and the current is steady, this time she knows she's ready. Ready to dip her toe out of the sands, alone with the sea she stands. The cold chill, up her skin and through her spine it sends her a thrill. Without the sea, she could never be. Without the salt and without an anchor to stop, she floats alone to the top. This will be the last time she tries, to emmorse herself into their glistening and crystallized lies.

Thanks, that's beautiful.

Here is my entry (will also be post on my blog):

The Ocean Is Calling

In pieces of you, tide washes in blue
The ocean is calling; to this calling stay true

As water is living, the breath of us all
The ocean is willing to share its abundance once more

From the darkness remaining, where the light cannot see
The ocean still calls forth to let the light see through me

The waves that were gentle and spoke to my soul
Though they roar up in anger, it is an anger I've known

In my memory it lays there like a long forgotten dream
Each drop of the ocean holds more than it seems

Return to the first point; rise up from the depths once again
The ocean is calling, it is calling my name

Thank You for this Opportunity @hopehuggs!!

Wishing you all the best! :-)

Here is my entry:

Oh how I rhyme
(Most of the time)
And I count the days
In which I crave
More story-time
Than rhyme
But at least I get to be there most of the time
Says me to the baby inside me who parents at times

I love it as always with your writing and pictures, but am I missing the connection to sea within the rhyme?

Yeah no I straight forgot that part... :-(

It'll be good for Runaway Rhymes 3 - It will be called - Hey, What are You Doing Today and it will need to be about something that you do most days, or on the particular day you write it.

I want to be a droplet in the sea
To melt, shed my skin and be free
Swim with dolphins, play with seals
Splashing with joy and squeals

To be free, to be free to swim in the sea
That is what I want to be

If that can't be then I want to grow wings
and be like the gulls flying over seas
Free as the playful, aimless breeze that sings

Needs to have a couple of extra lines to qualify as entry (minimum 8 lines in rules)

FUN! I'll post something this evening.
I just resteemed with one day left of the competition. Good luck to all the entrants!

Thank you very much for the prize. Just resteeming.

So glad I checked your profile for the second competition, just finished writing my entry, I shall post it tomorrow, this is exciting stuff. So happy for this contest, thanks again @hopehuggs
