Some wider angle portrait shots of Rachelle - free photos for you to use in your own posts

Introduction

I felt like a change from all the landscape and architecture type shots I was doing lately so decided to work on some portraits.

These are some wider angle portrait shots than I usually take. Wider angle lenses can make people look a bit weird if you aren't careful but as long as you don't use very extreme angles or try to take closeups you can usually avoid that happening.

These were taken with my trusty Sigma 24-70mm/1.8 at various focal lengths. I had trouble narrowing some of the similar photos down so have left them in so that you can choose whichever ones you like.

I like the moody window lighting here which was adjusted by fiddling with the blinds and a handheld reflector (I always have one of those). The vignetting was natural due to the lighting and not added in post processing.

I have a LOT of these but they take time to process - if people want more I can edit more.

Feel free to use these in your own posts if you want as per Steemit4free.

Processing

These were processed using the "Nostalgia" film setting from Nik Color Efex Pro 4 (get it and all their other plugins free here). I wanted to go for a more vintage film look that you see in a lot of stock photos.

hey, great advice and photos. we started a site about six months ago to get our photos out of our camera rolls. it's called nomad.pictures - they are more snaps but we are curating them, it brings us in some adsense and they are all cc0 - also have a site for video but i'm taking more time over that one! :)

I got the filters and had to come back here to say Thanks and vote you up! Great photos also! Nice work! All the best! :)

@thecryptofiend - in a very simple setting yet - perfection!
darn! how do you guys turn portrait pics into something like this?
upvoted even though needs charging now!

Thank you. The most important thing is good light and using a reflector to cast some light into the eyes - although it doesn't matter as much for these kind of shots when you are further away from the face.

Beautiful photos. I really like the filter you used as well. :)

Thanks. You can download it yourself with the Nik Plugins:)

Thanks! I'm checking it out now.

Cool it is well worth getting all their plugins especially since they are now free!

Good pics, but needs more cute puppy dogs. 4/5, upvoted.

Lol. I put the puppies and kittens on the more serious posts because they require more work to read:) Also I don't want to confuse people in case they think that the cute animal photo was taken by me as well.

I hear you, but I think you absolutely should post pictures of the dogs as yourself, so that people think that you're a puppy posting on Steemit.

Fab pictures, and here here to more cute puppy pics :)

Thank you. Yes more puppies will definitely be coming in the future!
