New Graffiti from the Sage Gateshead (free for you to use in your own posts)
Introduction
I was in the Gateshead area today as I had a follow up eye appointment. My left eye is still swollen following the infection but it is improving. Luckily I didn't need to have any dilating drops in my eyes so I was able to use my camera.
I was passing by the Sage in Gateshead and decided to have a look to see what was on the graffiti wall.
RIP Graffiti Wall - Vive the Railway Arches!
Sadly it looks like the graffiti wall has been knocked down and some building work is going on where it used to be. All is not lost though.
There are a set of railway bridge arches behind the Sage building which seem to be being slowly transformed with boarding to act as a replacement. These actually provide a space for much larger works although they are only partially completed at the moment. There were 3 large pieces and a few smaller ones which I will present below.
Extra shots and a sneak peak
Finally I also used the time to get some more shots of the Sage itself as well as the Baltic Centre and was able to take some shots of the famous Angel of the North scultpture which is nearby.
It will take me some time to process these but I have included a quick sneak peak edit at the end.

I love #6! Though I really like them all. Graffiti is a great form of expression and it's quite interesting and fun to see what's up in places around the world.
P.S. Glad your eye is on the mend! :)
Thank you:)
The last one is interesting, it looks a like a giant statue and the people are so tiny compare to it.
Yes it is an Anthony Gormley Sculpture called the Angel of the North. Here is the wiki page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angel_of_the_North - it's about 66 feet tall.
Another great work @thecryptofiend! Love the way you shot these cultral graffiti walls and what a photographed spot!
Thank you for your kind words as always:)
great photos @thecryptofiend and cool graffiti, I even dont know wich of them I like the most may be #10
Great choice. I'm not sure if it is meant to be someone famous or not - maybe you recognise it?
to be honest, I do not know that :)
No problem:)

Awesome graffiti, you can really feel the energy within the art of each one of these.
Thank you. Yes I love this kind of public artwork and I feel that the Sage has been very forward thinking in making spaces for it.
Your welcome, You did well capturing it too. I think what create that artistic vibration for me, is the fact that the picture and colors are drawn in a way that isn't "perfect". Which make it feel alive and like their is movement to each graffiti drawing.
Exactly my thoughts too. I think the most effective art has a dynamic "painterly" feel rather than absolute realism. If you look at the early work of Picasso for example you see he started out in the realistic mould but slowly progressed to greater expression which become cubism. I don't think you need to go that far but some kind of interpretation of what something means to you needs to come through.
Agreed, I think that subconsciously that "painterly" feel represents expressions and emotions. Since we can not see these things with our eye, when we see it expressed in that way through a painting it activates a certain part of ourselves within.
Yes exactly, Picasso and van go also represent energy projection in their paintings in this same way; Like how light traveling is shown in some of both their paintings.
Yes that is true, it is not necessary to create paintings in this way to represent these ideas but it is common to find this theme of how it is expressed in the surreal type of way. Yet every artist is different and has a different way of showing that expression. Great post, I enjoy your artistic photography. ^_^
Thank you. My feelings are the same:)
brilliant work my friend @ thecryptofiend, beautiful art, very creative with your advice for beginner congratulations on this great material
Thanks. I'm glad you like it:)
Not sure which is my favorite, they're all really neat! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks. Hopefully when they have all the arches set up there should be even more to look at:)
